NCISis ingrained in the fabric of American popular culture at this point, and continues to be popular for its action, drama, character arcs, and memorable villains. The CBS ratings behemoth has been renewed for a 23rd season, which is due to air in fall 2025, and could welcome some memorable guest actors. During its 22-season run, some of thelongest-runningNCIScast membershave become huge stars, but there have also been a wealth of guest stars who went on to achieve excellence after brief stints on the show, including a former First Lady.
Over the years, the series has been a starting platform for many rising stars while also drawing in established names for surprise cameos. Its appeal and long history make it a unique show for both new and familiar faces. With another season on the horizon, NCIS may continue its tradition of spotlighting future stars.

Before she shot to global fame as Eleven in Netflix’s ratings juggernautStranger Things, Millie Bobby Brown was a relatively unknown child actor who appeared in an episode ofNCISin 2014.She made an appearance as Rachel Barnes in the season 12 episode, “Parental Guidance Suggested,” an 11-year-old psychopath who is discovered to have murdered her mother. The character remains one ofthe most terrifying villains inNCIS, and is the youngest murderer in the franchise to date. Her performance was memorable and proved a springboard for the young actress’s career trajectory.

Yes, you read that right. Former First Lady of the United StatesMichelle Obama made a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it appearance as herself inNCIS. Obama played herself in the episode “Homefront” in a fun and meta move by the show, and one of her first-ever appearances on a scripted TV show. It seems that the experience was an enjoyable one, as she has since gone on to make guest appearances inNashville,Parks and Recreation, andiCarlyas herself. While it’s unlikely she will make any future guest appearances inNCIS, don’t rule it out.
