Now that the first half of 2025 is coming to an end, it will soon be time forDisney Dreamlight Valleyto reveal its Road Map for the remaining half of the year. With that, we’ll finally get some indication as to which characters we can expect to see come toDisney Dreamlight Valleyin 2025, as well as what the next expansion might consist of.
While there’s no way to know for sure what the development team has in mind, some clues could provide a little insight. For one thing,Disney Dreamlight Valleyoften performs surveysto evaluate where player interest lies, but the limited selections could also indicate which characters are on Gameloft’s radar. Pre-established franchises in the game often see new character additions as well, and right now, there are still several in the valley missing key characters.

10Ralph Has Already Been Confirmed, But Where Is He?
Wreck-It Ralph
AsDisney Dreamlight Valleyis now several years old, there’s been a lot of promotional material for the game over the years. Often, these trailers feature characters that already exist in the valley or will be coming in the next update, but there are a few instances where a character has made an appearance only to seemingly never be seen again. One such case was Ralph fromWreck-It Ralph. In one of the earlyDisney Dreamlight Valleytrailers, you’re able to plainly see Ralph walking through the plaza, but there’s never been any word about his actual arrival in the game.
OnceVanellope arrived inDDV—and not through a realm—it seemed only fitting that Ralph would follow shortly after her, but he didn’t.Two years later, we’re still waiting for any news about Ralph coming to the valley. Given that he’s clearly already been designed for the game, it’s obvious we can still expect him at some point, and I think 2025 will have been a long enough wait. If added through a small quest like Vanellope, it could be a great way to fill out a small update with some additional content that players are already anticipating.
9Pluto Is Mickey’s Best Pal, But He’s Still Missing From The Group
Mickey Mouse & Friends
Given that this is a Disney game first and foremost, it only made sense that Mickey Mouse is among the first villagers you meet in the valley. Shortly after, you’re introduced to other iconic Toon Town characters, like Goofy and Donald, and then Minnie and Daisy even later. With Mickey Mouse’s main group of friends nearly complete, you can’t help but notice a key presence that seems to have been left out, especially since evenOswald has been added toDDV.
At the moment, villagers inDisney Dreamlight Valleycan’t have their own companions)
Pluto is one of the only other constants in Mickey’s life, aside from Minnie, and it feels wrong that we’re now several years in with no sign of him. Adding him as a companion is an option, but it just wouldn’t make sense as he’s meant to be with Mickey, not you. On the flip side, there’s a concern that having a dog as a villager doesn’t really make sense either. Nonetheless, there are other animal villagers, as well as villagers that don’t really speak, so it wouldn’t be too far-fetched to have him added to the valley.
8Lilo Helps Keep Stitch Under Control
Lilo & Stitch
With the recent release of theLilo & Stitchlive-action film, now is as good a time as any to give Stitch someone to share his home with. Since Stitch was something of a random addition without any realm or update themed around him, adding Lilo now as part of a promotion for the new movie seems more than ideal, and she could offer some new content. Ever since he was added, Stitch hasn’t had much in the way of quests outside the initial havoc he wreaked throughout the valley, but adding Lilo to the mix would change that.
Lilo is the main character who helps keep Stitch under control, so having him calmly walking throughout the valley without her anywhere to be seen has always felt a bit off. If Lilo was brought in, this would open the door for more Stitch chaos that she could then help resolve.
There are, of course, other notable characters fromLilo & Stitchthat could be added aside from Lilo as well, but they wouldn’t make nearly as much sense at this point. Nani would have no real purpose without Lilo first, and Jumba and Pleakley would be better late additions that could be added as a pair.
7Hercules Needs To Pay A Visit To Hades
Hercules
When theA Rift In Timeexpansionwas originally released, everyone was confused as to why we would get Jafar, but no Aladdin or Jasmine. Then, after the expansion concluded and Jafar was welcomed to the valley, we finally got both of them in a massive update. Now thatStorybook Valeis also coming to a close, many are wondering if the same will be true for its villains. At this time, Maleficent and Hades are the only characters from their respective franchises, but there’s already a strong indication that Aurora will be added in the expansion’s final act.
Characters mentioned in the surveys conducted by Gameloft are not content guarantees for future updates, but they can be a good indication as to what the team is considering for the future of Disney Dreamlight Valley.
This means thatHades is the onlyDDVvillain that still needs the hero of his story, Hercules. It’s expected that there is already an idea to include Hercules, and maybe even Meg, given that Hercules' name has popped up in several surveys by Gmeloft, but this isn’t official. Since these are typically only to gauge interest in the character, it’s likely only a matter of time before we see if he makes the cut. If it follows the same timeline asA Rift in Timeand the subsequentAladdinupdate, then perhaps we’ll see Hercules by the end of this year or very early into 2026.
6Cinderella Is Long Overdue For Her Debut
Cinderella
Disney Princesses are always major additions toDDVin any capacity, which isn’t surprising given how prominent they are for Disney as a brand, but Cinderella goes even beyond that. In many ways,Cinderella could be considered the main Disney princess. Although Snow White was technically the first, Cinderella’s castle being the icon for Walt Disney World and, subsequently, a large portion of their branding in general, has given her recognition that the other princesses haven’t quite achieved.
That being said, it is a bit odd that she has yet to make her debut inDisney Dreamlight Valleywhen so many of the other princesses have, and we already know she exists in the game. Like Ralph,Cinderella has also already been shown in promotional footage, dating back to whenDisney Dreamlight Valleywas still in its early access phase. With Aurora likely releasing this summer, however, it’s unlikely we’ll see Cinderella in the same general time period. Perhaps winter could finally mark her welcome to the valley.
5Jim Hawkins Is The Odd Addition We’ve Been Waiting For
Treasure Planet
When it comes to characters that players have been eagerly anticipating, two notable films have received a lot of requests: Treasure PlanetandAtlantis. These often-forgotten films hold a special place for a large number of Disney fans, so many have been eager to see these characters. At this time, there’s no word on whether there are any plan set in stone to add these characters, but they’re certainly on Gameloft’s radar, as most of them have appeared in numerous surveys, especially Jim.
Although it would be great to see either of these films honored with character additions to the game,Treasure Planetis such a unique setting and story that having a realm or even an expansion based around it would be a stand-out addition toDDV. Additionally, asDisney Dreamlight Valleyseems to be leaning heavily into creating unique realms with new challenges and gameplay,Solar Surfing with Jim seems like a perfect opportunity to turn the glider feature into a fun mini-gameand continue that trend of unique changes into the latter half ofDisney Dreamlight Valley’s 2025 Road Map.
4Judy Hopps Is The Perfect Way To Promote Zootopia 2
Zootopia
WithZootopia 2set to release in November 2025, it seems the perfect time to finally bring two characters that players have been waiting for, Judy and Nick. While there is a possibility that we could get both of them at the same time through a realm, I have a feeling that these would be two characters implemented through other means, such as a valley quest. At this time, there aren’t too many other relevant characters from this franchisethat could be added in the future.
If they don’t join the game at the same time, we could possibly get Nick before Judy, but I don’t personally see that happening. Given her ZPD experience, I think it’shighly likely that Judy would be initially dropped into the valley to solve some sort of case, which could then potentially lead to Nick’s reveal. While the reverse could also work similarly, given that Nick is now a part of ZPD, it still wouldn’t make as much sense based on their history.
3The Sanderson Sisters Are The Perfect Spooky Season Replacement
Hocus Pocus
With bothJack Skellington and Sally finally inDDV, and no sign of Oogie Boogie coming soon,Disney Dreamlight Valleyis now in need of a replacement for fall that brings the same seasonal vibes to the valley. There are plenty of classic Disney options to choose from, includingThe Haunted MansionandHalloweentown, but perhapsthe most iconic Halloween season icons are the Sanderson sisters.
Though they don’t have immediate relevancy, this trio has maintained its popularity, andHocus Pocusis often still a rewatch for many people every Halloween.Bringing these three witches to the valley could offer all sorts of havoc and a plethora of new quests, especially if each one is added individually instead of all three at once. I could even see them taking a more prominent role, given their collective powers, and being used to progress the main narrative of the game, which has been in desperate need of new content for a while now.
2Anakin Could Bring Balance To The Valley
Star Wars
In a surprising recent turn of events,DDVshocked everyone by introducingStar Warsitems to the Premium Shop in celebration ofStar Warsday, May 4th. While it had been expected thatStar Wars(andMarvel) would eventually make its way into the valley, most had anticipated more buildup, even just for a premium shop update. Although no official characters were added, unless you count the companion R2D2,the newStar Warsoutfits could be an indication of more to come.
Perhaps instead of wondering why there was no buildup for thisStar Wars-themed launch, we should instead view this as the buildup itself. Both of the added outfits and the rest of the content were clearly specific to Anakin and Padme, which could very well be a way to tease their upcoming arrival. Given how divisive players feel aboutStar WarsinDDV, I have a feelingStar Warswill only be added through an optional expansion, butthis could mean Anakin and Padme make an appearance as early as this year in the 2025 expansion announcement.
1Yzma Deserves To Be The Next Big Villain Of Disney Dreamlight Valley
The Emperor’s New Groove
If there’s one remaining Disney character who deserves to be one of the mainvillains ofDisney Dreamlight Valley, it’s Yzma. Despite not being as outright frightening as some of the other villains,Yzma’s iconic appearance and her sidekick, Kronk, make her one of Disney’s most beloved antagonists. In fact, she and Kronk are almost more widely loved than the actual heroes of their story. With several classic villains already in the game,DDVneeds another major evil character to be the driving force behind its next expansion or main story, and Yzma is perfect.
Not only this, but Yzma’s addition would certainly bring Kronk in tow, who could feature interesting quests themed around the animal companions, particularly the squirrels. Kuzco could also join, potentially featuring a dream style that uses his llama form. Overall, Yzma is a great Disney villain from a very notable franchise, and, since she never really got a redemption arc, this is the perfect chance to utilize her for the next big evil act inDisney Dreamlight Valley.
