Tammy’s Mental Health Wasn’t Great Before Surgery

She Was Trying To Work Through Deeper Problems

AlthoughTammy has always had a lot to handle, her mental health seemed like it was at an all-time low before her weight loss surgery. After getting herself into a tough situation with her health, Tammy was placed into a medically induced coma at the end of 2022, which led to her being in a weight loss rehab in 2023. Finding herself away from home and struggling to stay positive about her future,Tammy’s mental health took a turn.

While she’d already been dealing with mental health issues throughout her life,Tammy seemed to attribute a lot of the issuesshe had with depression and mood to her weight. While she was sorting things out in rehab, shehad to complete mandatory therapy, but it didn’t seem to help in the way she hoped. Tammy’s inability to move through her life without struggle wasn’t surprising, as it’s not uncommon for anyone to be dealing with mental health issues, let alone someone in Tammy’s position.

Tammy’s Attitude Toward Her Family Isn’t Positive

She Hasn’t Always Felt Accepted

As1000-Lb Sistershas tackled more of Tammy’s life after her weight loss surgery, it’s become clear that the mental health issues she was facing before are still around, and something she needs to address. In recent episodes of1000-Lb Sistersseason 7, Tammy struggled with feeling included in her family despite them giving her every opportunity to be included in their activities. Isolating herself and feeling bad about not being included was something Tammy was used to before surgery, butcontinuing the behavior when she wasn’t being isolated or excluded was overwhelming to watch.

Tammy Needs To Address Her Deeper Issues

She’s Dealing With A Lot More Than Weight

AsTammy has moved through her life post-surgery, she’s been doing a lot to keep her physical health in check and adjust to her new ways of life. In the same way, however, Tammy needs to address the mental health pieces of her life after losing a tremendous amount of weight. While she likely feels like she can just adjust back into her life in the same way she had in the past,Tammy needs to do the work to deal with her deeper mental health issues. Though that may take time, the1000-Lb Sistersstar owes herself that grace.
