A canceledAMCsci-fi comedy series has been revived by Fox’s free streaming platform, Tubi. With a script from Tearrance Arvelle Chisholm,Demascuswas executive produced byBetter Call Saulexecutive producer Mark Johnson, Myki Bajaj, and Kirk A. Moore, who also serves as the showrunner.

The comedic, genre-fluid, coming-of-age series follows a 33-year-old Black man who navigates the field of digital psychiatry while trying to discover his truest self, and stars Okieriete Onaodowan as Demascus, alongside Janet Hubert, Caleb Eberhardt, Shakira Ja’nai Paye, and Martin Lawrence. Despite having finished production,the series was axed by AMC in 2023 due to company-wide cost-cutting measures.

Now, thanks to a deal between AMC Networks and Tubi,Demascuswill soon arrive on the Fox-owned free streamer as a Tubi Original, according toDeadline. The six-part series will premiere on August 7 as the latest original series for the service.
