Marvel Studios has already set up some new excitingMCUstorylines that will be explored inDaredevil: Born Againseason 2, which is scheduled to release on Disney+ in early 2026.Daredevil: Born Againseason 1 came to a dramatic end on April 15 with a wild cliffhanger that saw Matt Murdock forming his own army while Mayor Wilson Fisk enacted his “Safer Streets” initiative. Filming onDaredevil: Born Againseason 2began in February, weeks before season 1 premiered on Disney+, so some major mysteries will soon be addressed.
Although Marvel Studios hasn’t yet confirmed an exact release date,Daredevil: Born Againseason 2 is expected to premiere in March 2026, and Marvel creatives have voiced ambitions for more seasons to release annually after that. This means we won’t have to wait long for season 2 to address some of thebiggest mysteries created inDaredevil: Born Againseason 1. Marvel Studios has already set up some huge storylines that can be continued and explored in more detail with a more stable creative team inDaredevil: Born Againseason 2, which is very exciting for the revival series.

8Mayor Wilson Fisk Put New York City Under Martial Law
Wilson Fisk Became The Mayor Of New York In Daredevil: Born Again Season 1
Perhaps the biggest set-up ahead ofDaredevil: Born Againseason 2 from the first season’s finale is the fact that Wilson Fisk has finally used his position as Mayor of New York to put the city under martial law.Fisk’s brutal murder of Commissioner Galloand his exploitation of Bullseye’s attack and the Black and White Ball have allowed him to obtain complete influence over New York. Now under martial law, the city is controlled by Kingpin and his own police force, the Anti-Vigilante Task Force, which will be key toBorn Againseason 2’s story.
ThroughoutDaredevil: Born Againseason 1, Wilson Fisk was using the mayoral office to attempt to seemingly-innocently renovate the dodgy Red Hook area. It was later revealed that Red Hook is actually a free port, soWilson Fisk’s renovation of the area would allow Wilson and Vanessa to establish their own city state and legally pull off some usually-very-illegal activities. Now that New York is under martial law, the entire city has become Wilson Fisk’s city state, which is a terrifying prospect thatBorn Againseason 2 and otherNew York-based MCU projectscan explore.

7The Punisher Escaped From Wilson Fisk’s Prison
Jon Bernthal Will Return In The Punisher’s Own Special Presentation
Following his huge level of success and popularity in Netflix’s Defenders Saga, it was fantastic to seeJon Bernthal’s Frank Castle return as the PunisherinDaredevil: Born Againseason 1.Castle was revealed to have been continuing to carry out his vigilante justice in the background of the MCU ever sinceDaredevilseason 2 and his own spinoff,The Punisher, whileBorn Againreunited him with Matt Murdock’s Daredevil. The Punisher is set to have a larger role in the MCU’s future, especially since the Anti-Vigilante Task Force has co-opted his skull emblem.

The Punisher entered Wilson Fisk’s Red Hook facility inDaredevil: Born Againseason 1’s finale and killed several members of the Anti-Vigilante Task Force, but he was eventually captured and beaten. Nevertheless, the series' post-credits scene saw Frank Castle prepare his escape by breaking AVTF officer Anthony Petruccio’s arm. This not only sets up Jon Bernthal for a possible return inDaredevil: Born Againseason 2, but also establishes his return and continued fight against Kingpin in thePunisher’s own Special Presentation, which is also expected to release next year.
6Bullseye Is Still On The Loose
Wilson Bethel Has Already Filmed Scenes For Daredevil: Born Again Season 2
While Wilson Fisk and the Anti-Vigilante Task Force have clearly been set up as the major antagonists ofDaredevil: Born Againseason 2, they won’t be the only threats. In fact,Wilson Bethel has been confirmed to be returning inBorn Againseason 2, reprising the role of psychopathic sharp-shooter and former FBI agent Benjamin Poindexter, a.k.a. Bullseye.Bullseye returned to murder Foggy Nelsonat Vanessa Fisk’s command, and then targeted Wilson Fisk himself, perhaps seeking retribution after the events ofDaredevilseason 3, which is expected to continue inBorn Againseason 2.
Set videos from the production ofDaredevil: Born Againseason 2 have revealed thatWilson Bethel has already filmed scenes as Bullseye, and that he has also been given a more comic-accurate costume for the second season. Whether Bullseye continues to be an antagonist to Matt Murdock’s Daredevil or whether he’ll be recruited for the battle against Kingpin is a question Marvel Studios still needs to answer. There will surely be payback for the murder of Foggy Nelson and the shooting of Matt Murdock himself, so Bullseye’s return is very exciting.
5Matt Murdock & Karen Page Have Been Reunited
Deborah Ann Woll May Have A Larger Role In Daredevil: Born Again Season 2
Originally,Daredevil: Born Againwas set to be more separate from Netflix’s originalDaredevilseries, and iconic supporting actors Deborah Ann Woll and Elden Henson weren’t expected to return. The series' massive creative overhaul in late 2023 thankfully changed this, making it a direct continuation ofDaredevil, canonizing the Defenders Sagaand allowingHenson’s Foggy Nelson and Woll’s Karen Page to return. While Foggy met his demise inBorn Again’spremiere, Karen Page survived, and has been set up for a larger role in the series' second season.
While Karen Page was missing for the majority ofDaredevil: Born Again’smiddle episodes - ones led by the former creative team - she returned in the season finale to help Matt Murdock and Frank Castle.Karen Page provided valuable advice to Murdock, urging him to be patient and careful about his attack on Kingpin and the Anti-Vigilante Task Force, pushing him to find friends and build an army. Deborah Ann Woll is returning asKaren Page inDaredevil: Born Againseason 2, and her bond with Matt Murdock will surely be pivotal to the development of the season’s narrative.
4Heather Glenn Is Becoming A Bona Fide Villain
Margarita Levieva’s Heather Glenn Is No Longer Matt Murdock’s Partner
Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock has always had a way with women, and this pattern continued inDaredevil: Born Again, which debuted Margarita Levieva as Dr.Heather Glenn, Murdock’s new love interest. More than that, however,Heather Glenn is a notable therapist and author in New York City, with clients including Wilson and Vanessa Fisk and Bastian Cooper, who was revealed to be the serial killer, Muse. She has also released books delving into the psychology of masked vigilantes, andDaredevil: Born Againseason 1’s finale even saw her recruited to Mayor Wilson Fisk’s office.
Heather Glenn becomes a minor villain as the chairperson of Glenn Industries in Marvel Comics, butDaredevil: Born Againhas been setting her up as a much more central antagonist to Matt Murdock’s Daredevil.
Daredevil: Born Againshowrunner Dario Scardapane has confirmed that Matt Murdock and Heather Glenn are no longer romantically involved after the season 1 finale, and this perhaps informed Glenn accepting Wilson Fisk’s offer to become his Commissioner of Mental Health. Now that she’s working directly for Wilson Fisk, it seems Heather Glenn is being set up to become a bona fide villain inBorn Againseason 2. Some theories even suggestHeather Glenn could become the new Muse, perhaps influenced and manipulated by the Kingpin, but only time will tell.
3Angela Del Toro Has Already Tried Her Own Vigilante Justice
Angela Del Toro Could Become The White Tiger In Daredevil: Born Again Season 2
Despite only being featured in a few brief scenes,Camila Rodriguez was a memorable addition to the cast ofDaredevil: Born Againseason 1. The young actor appeared as Angela del Toro, the niece of Kamar de los Reyes' Hector Ayala, who used a mystical amulet to become thevigilante known as White Tiger. Hector Ayala was killed by future Anti-Vigilante Task Force member Cole North inBorn Againseason 1, which leaves the door open for Angela del Toro to take his place as the White Tiger in season 2, just as she does in Marvel Comics.
Angela del Toro is significantly older in Marvel Comics when she first becomes the White Tiger, succeeding her uncle as the masked vigilante. Nevertheless,it would be fantastic to see Camila Rodriguez’s Angela del Toro suit up as the White Tiger in the MCU, and some theories have suggested that this could even lead to her becoming a formidable member of theMCU’s Young Avengers team. Her attempt to ambush Muse in his subway tunnel lair teased her ambition to become a vigilante, andDaredevil: Born Again season 2 can make this happen.
2Kingpin’s Outlawing Of Vigilantes Will Affect Many Heroes
Many Of The MCU’s Heroes Are Based In New York City
Mayor Wilson Fisk didn’t just use the dramatic events ofDaredevil: Born Againseason 1’s last two episodes to put New York City under martial law, but Kingpin also used these attacks to finally do what his campaign promised.Wilson Fisk outlawed vigilantism in New York inBorn Againseason 1’s finale, just as he does in Marvel ComicsDevil’s Reignevent in 2021, which has formed the basis ofDaredevil: Born Again’snarrative.Outlawing vigilante activity in New Yorkand establishing the Anti-Vigilante Task Force to enforce his laws will impact not just Daredevil, but many MCU heroes.
Wilson Fisk made a reference to Spider-Man inDaredevil: Born Again, but Tom Holland hasn’t been confirmed to be appearing inBorn Againseason 2, andSpider-Man: Brand New Daymay also not deal with Kingpin’s rise to power, so it’s unclear if Daredevil and Spider-Man will actually cross paths.
Marvel Comics’Devil’s Reignstoryline included the likes of Captain America, Iron Man, the Fantastic Four, the X-Men and more. While it’s unlikely thatDaredevil: Born Againseason 2 will include these notable heroes, there has been huge speculation about the possible appearances of popular New York-based MCU heroes. Perhaps most notably, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Danny Rand and Colleen Wing’s Iron Fists, Misty Knight and more from theDefenders Saga are now all canon to the MCU, and the likes of Spider-Man could also be affected, which could makeBorn Againseason 2 the biggest Disney+ series yet.
1Daredevil Wants To Build An Army
Daredevil’s Army Could Bring Back Some Iconic Street-Level Heroes
Speaking of potential MCU heroes who could appear inDaredevil: Born Againseason 2,it’s possible these characters could all come together to form Daredevil’s new army. Following Karen Page’s advice, Matt Murdock agreed that he should take his time when preparing to battle Wilson Fisk and the Anti-Vigilante Task Force, and build a team of allies and perhaps superpowered individuals, all of whom will be affected by Fisk’s new laws. This could reunite Daredevil with some formidable characters from the MCU’s history, and establish some brilliant new connections.
It would be fantastic to see Daredevil rejoin the Defenders inBorn Againseason 2, whilethere could be some powerful new additions if the likes of Spider-Man, Echo, Hawkeye, Ms. Marvel and more New York-based heroes join the team. So far, Daredevil’s army seems to comprise a few friendly NYPD officers as well as Cherry, Josie and Angie Kim, so the team could use some superpowered help. With all New York-based vigilantes targeted by Kingpin,Daredevil: Born Againseason 2 can establish this army and make Daredevil an even more important fixture in the MCU’s street-level stories.
