WithElden Ring Nightreigngearing up for its launch later this month, FromSoftware has yet to officially announce the final two Nightfarer archetypes that will be available to play in the game. However, a leaked image of these two character classes seems to more or less confirm their names, and provide a few clues as to what kind of archetypes they might be. Nightfarers inNightreignall have their own unique skills and playstyles and are designed around archetypes such as an Archer, Assassin, etc.
In a recentleaked image of the Nightfarersby merchandising company MeeToMa, there are a few distinct clues about the final character classes. While there’s not a lot to go by outside these leaked images, it looks to me like one of them will be a Samurai archetype. The “Executor” character appears to be wearing armor that looks very similar to a Samurai-type enemy fromShadow of the Erdtree,Rakshasa. While I am not 100% certain there’s a connection, if it is the Rakshasa armor, it would make a lot of sense for thegame’s final Nightfarerto be a Samurai

Leaked Nightfarer Armor Looks Like Rakshasa From Shadow Of The Erdtree
Rakshasa Is A Samurai Boss Found In Elden Ring
With very few clues to go on, the armor worn by the Nightfarer in the leaked image of Executor looks very similar to theRakshasa SetfromElden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree. The details are hard to make out, but even if they are not an exact match,a character class modeled aroundRakshasamakes a lot of sense. Rakshasa is one of the most popular additions to theElden Ringuniverse, both in terms of lore and gameplay, introducing one of the most OP weapons in the game.
Rakshasa is a humanoid Samurai and optional boss inSOTEthat wieldsRakshasa’s Great Katanaand has a range of Samurai attacks. The Great Katana was a new weapon type added with the DLC, andRakshasa’s is among one of the best options. The Rakshasa set and Great Katana are among the most powerful and OP items in the game, with the Weed Cutter skill onRakshasa’s Great Katanadealing ridiculous damage. This weapon outclasses any other Great Katana in the game, and is perfect for anElden RingSamurai build.

“Rakshasa would be the perfect model for a character class archetype in Nightreign.”
Rakshasa is found in the Eastern Nameless Mausoleum inSOTE, and looking at the boss’s skill set, weapons, and armor, Rakshasa would be the perfect model for a character class archetype inNightreign. Rakshasa specializes in quickpiercing attacks with the Great Katana and inflicting blood loss, a status effect that hasn’t been a core feature of the other confirmed Nightfarers but is arguably the most popular among players.

Why A Samurai Nightfarer Makes Sense For Nightreign
The Samurai Archetype Rounds Out A Balanced List Of Nightfarers
So far, there are six confirmed character classes inNightreign: Wylder, Guardian, Ironeye, Duchess, Recluse, and Raider, who you’re able to watch the announcement trailer for above. With the unconfirmed Revenant and Executor characters, the eight different archetypes seem to be a balance between all the main playstylesand build types fromElden RingandShadow of the Erdtree. A Samurai class is the perfect addition to the existing roster, and makes a lot of sense given how popular the archetype has been across most Soulsborne games in general.
All told, the final two remaining Nightfarers have not been confirmed at this point, but the leaked image of the Executor leaves a lot of room for speculation. I’m hopeful that the Executor character class is a Samurai simply because that would be my preferred archetype alongside the Ironeye or Guardian classes. If Executor turns out to be a Samurai archetype, I have no doubt it will be one of the most popular choices for Nightfarers inElden Ring Nightreign.
