Owing to all of this, there is a lot to look forward to inThe Boysseason 5. However, one of the most exciting elements of the final story is Billy Butcher’s arc. It is hard to predict where his story is going after his massive season 4 supe twist, but one narrative development and pay off is bound to happen.

Butcher Was Helpless When He Faced Homelander In The Boys Season 4

There is only one major face-off betweenHomelander and Billy Butcher inThe Boysseason 4. The two characters end up crossing paths in the season’s opening arc when Butcher tries to convince Ryan to leave with him. To his dismay, Homelander suddenly shows up before he can have a proper word with Ryan.

Unaware of his hidden supe powers, Butcher is not even able to confront Homelander because he believes his temporary Compound V powers have vanished. To make things even worse,Homelander uses his X-ray vision to spot the tumor in his head and pities him for only having a few months to live.

A part of Butcher still hopes that Ryan will do the right thing and leave with him. However, yet again, Ryan chooses his biological father over him. Before he can help Ryan and convince him how being with Homelander would do him more harm than good, the young supe grabs Homelander’s hand and flees the scene.

Butcher’s New Supe Powers Make His Next Encounter With Homelander Exciting

Butcher Will Give Homelander A Run For His Money The Next Time He Meets Him

The Boysseason 4 only gives a glimpse of Billy Butcher’s supe abilities. However, it seems to clearly establish that he is easily one of the strongest supes out there. InThe Boysseason 4’s early moments, Hughie and his crew tried to kill Victoria Neuman, but all their efforts failed. The fact that Butcher easily managed to kill her with his supe powers proves how strong he truly is.

In another initial arc fromThe Boysseason 4, Butcher also killed Ezekiel, who was considered a powerful supe. While only time will tell whether Butcher is strong enough to fight toe to toe with Homerlander, he seems to be powerful enough to give him a run for his money. Even if Butcher is not there yet,it would be fun to see how Homelander will react after learning Butcher is a supe.

Butcher will likely not hold himself back from lashing out at Homelander, which will prompt the Antony Starr character to unleash his full potential as a supe.

Homelander rarely shows fear because of how overpowered he is. InThe Boysseason 3, however,he genuinely seemed scared when Billy Butcher, Soldier Boy, and Hughie overpowered him. If Butcher comes close to repeating something like that inThe Boysseason 4, it could mark a turning point in his power dynamic with the red-caped supe.

Regardless of what the future holds for both characters inThe Boys' final season, their next encounter is going to be fascinating. Butcher will likely not hold himself back from lashing out at Homelander, which will prompt the Antony Starr character to unleash his full potential as a supe.

After Season 4, Butcher Has Another Secret Weapon At His Disposal

Butcher Can Also Use The Supe Virus To Get Homelander Out Of His Way

Butcher rarely cared about other supes, but his empathy towards his son held him back from taking any drastic measures against supes. TowardsThe Boysseason 4’s ending moments, however,he lost all hope when even Ryan refused to help him stop Homelander.

Since he seemingly stops caring about Ryan as well inThe Boysseason 4, he will likely not hold himself back from unleashing the supe-killing virus into the world just to be able to kill Homelander. Butcher might risk getting himself killed by the virus, but since he is anyway going to die from cancer, he will not care about how it will potentially harm him.
