Wednesdaycenters on a school of outcasts, but even within Nevermore Academy the outcast groups can be differentiated further thanks to their various powers. The Addams Family has always been unusual, butWednesday’s powers in season 1and her time at a new school took that even further.Nevermore Academy includes various outcast species, including sirens, vampires, werewolves, and gorgons, along with students like Wednesday who have different psychic powers and students with no faces.
When the show’s various characters are introduced,Wednesdaygives audiences some explanation of what each of the groups can do, but as the show continues, their powers become even more complex. ByWednesdayseason 1’s ending, Wednesday herself has developed her powers far more than before, and she has uncovered the truth about various other outcasts who have powers she did not initially foresee.Wednesdayseason 2looks set to continue exploring outcast powers as well, with several new characters and powers already confirmed.

12Psychic Visions
Wednesday Uses Her Visions To Solve The Mystery In Season 1
Many of the students at Nevermore have some special powers, but Wednesday’s are the ones that audiences know the most about, sinceWednesdayseason 1 necessarily expands on her psychic abilities the most. Throughout the season,Wednesday has psychic visions that help her uncover the truth about the murders happening around the town of Jerichoand how they connect to the town and school’s history.

Wednesday’s visions are the main supernatural focus of the series, but it is also revealed that she is not the only one to have such clairvoyance.Wednesdayreveals thatthe Addams Family daughter inherited the power from her mother. Beyond that, she also learns that her distant ancestor, Goody Addams, was a witch who had a similar gift. Knowing how deeply her power is connected both to her family and Nevermore, it will be interesting to see howWednesdayseason 2 explores the character’s powers further.
11Werewolf Transformation
Enid Is Just One Of The Show’s Werewolves
One of Nevermore Academy’s biggest cliques is the “Furs,” which is fittingly made up of the school’s werewolf population.Though there are numerous werewolf students at the school, the most lovable and important is Enid, Wednesday’s roommate and best friend.
For the werewolf group, their power is simply the transformation itself, which has both positives and negatives. The werewolves become more violent and unpredictable, but they are also stronger and faster in their wolf form.

10Psychic Animation
Xavier Can Bring His Drawings To Life
Like Wednesday, Xavier falls into the psychic category, though his power is quite different from hers.He has the ability to bring his drawings to life using the power of animation. He demonstrates this to Wednesday by drawing a spider and animating it off the paper. Xavier’s artistic and psychic abilities are also connected to his dreams, allowing him to see the Hyde in his dreams before anyone else catches sight of the monster. So far, Xavier is the only outcast audiences have seen with this ability.
9Psychic Communication
Audiences Have Seen Animal Psychic Communication From Eugene
Psychic communication is a fairly broad category, and it seems possible that different variations of it could exist within the world ofWednesday, but so far, audiences have only really seen one character use this power. InWednesdayseason 1,Eugene has the power to communicate with and influence bees. More recently,Wednesdayseason 2’s new character postersshow Eugene surrounded by fireflies, hinting that his talents may be expanding to other creatures.
8Electrokinesis
Several Addams Family Members Have This Power
Wednesday is not the only member of her family who possesses some supernatural powers, as several are confirmed to have powers of electrokinesis.Wednesdayseason 1 saw Wednesday’s Uncle Fester exhibit power over electricity.
Wednesday’s season 2 trailer has now proven that he is not alone in this skill, asPugsley will be joining Wednesday at Nevermore to hone his own electrokinetic abilities. The extent of this power is currently unknown, but it seems likely that season 2 will expand it.

7Pyrokinesis
Wednesday Season 2 Seems Set To Show The New Power
One of the most exciting new characters that audiences will get a chance to see inWednesdayseason 2 is Principal Dort. Netflix’s new character posters have already confirmed thatSteve Buscemi’sWednesdaycharacter will have the ability to create fire. Since none of the other characters have exhibited this skill so far, it is hard to know just how big a role it will play in the upcoming season. However, from what we have seen of similar powers so far, like electrokinesis, Principal Dort’s pyrokinesis could be an important, and very dangerous, addition.
6Telekinesis
Before His Death, Rowan Was Confirmed To Have Telekinetic Powers
Telekinesis has only been seen in a few episodes ofWednesdayso far, but is clearly a very cool power. Along with several of the other powers that fall into the psychic category, telekinesis was introduced early in season 1 through the character of Rowan. Wednesday’s classmate was confirmed to have the power to move things with his mind after he pushed Wednesday up against a tree to try to kill her.
Wednesday also realized that he was responsible for her previously almost getting crushed by a falling gargoyle. Rowan was very powerful, but he was also very dangerous because he began to lose his mind after finding his mother’s drawing. Without learning more about what it truly meant, he attacked Wednesday, but was ultimately killed by the Hyde. As of season 1,Rowan was the only Nevermore student with the ability.

5Shapeshifting
Principal Weems Is The Only Shapeshifter In The Series So Far
Shapeshifting is another confirmed supernatural power thatWednesday’s outcasts possess. The only known shapeshifter inWednesdayso far is the school’s former principal, Larissa Weems. Weems covered up Rowan’s death by shapeshifting into her former student’s body. At the time, Wednesday was unaware of Weems' powers, but it became clearer when she used them again later in the season. Sadly, Weems was killed at the end of season 1, so it remains to be seen if the series will introduce another shapeshifter.
4Siren Song
Nevermore’s Sirens Can Manipulate Through Their Song
One of Nevermore’s major student groups is that of the Sirens or “scales.” Like their mythological name would suggest,Nevermore’s sirens have the ability to manipulate the behavior of those around them through their songs. They are also part sea creatures, so when in the water they grow a mermaid tail and can breathe underwater. The mainsiren seen so far inWednesdayis Bianca Barclay, who is one of the more popular girls in school thanks to her manipulation abilities, though there are many other siren students too.
3Petrification
The Gorgons' Stoning Power Is Temporary
Another major clique inWednesday’s world is that of the “stoners,” who are the gorgon students at Nevermore. Like the sirens, the gorgons' power is also heavily related to mythology. They each have snakes on their heads instead of hair, andif anyone makes eye contact with the snakes, they are frozen into a stone statue. Luckily,Wednesdaychanges the story slightly so that the stoning is only temporary.
The gorgon characters each wear a beanie to cover their snakes and avoid accidentally freezing someone.

While the power to turn people into stone could be a good thing in certain situations, the gorgons have to be very careful, as it could also cause them a lot of problems.Even looking at themselves in the mirror can cause a gorgon to turn to stone. As a result, the gorgon characters each wear a beanie to cover their snakes and avoid accidentally freezing someone. Ajax is the primary gorgon that the series has introduced.
