Lionsgate’sFrom the World of John Wick: Ballerinais getting a vinyl release as visually stylized as theJohn Wickfranchise itself, andScreenRanthas a first look. Len Wiseman’s riff on the world ofJohn Wickintroduced audiences to Ana de Armas’ Eve, a ballerina-turned-assassin, and aimed to craft action scenes worthy of the Keanu Reeves blockbusters.
The movie also boasts a soundtrack by longtimeJohn Wickfranchise composers Joel J. Richard and Tyler Bates, who have written music for sequences likeJohn Wick: Chapter 4’s climactic shootout. Together, they put together a score that tracks Eve’s emotional journey through her childhood up through her biggest challenge yet–and which kicks plenty of butt along the way.

ScreenRantis happy to offer a first look at theBallerina“Violet Smoke” edition vinyl, coming October 17 courtesy of Lakeshore Records. Boasting a contrasting, moody color palette, pink vinyl, and art featuring Eve, the record is a visually and sonically arresting collection addition. You canpre-order the record here.
More About The Ballerina Soundtrack

The track “Kiki Mora”, for example, evokes the humanity of Eve and the tragedy of her personal story, while “Great Hallstat Bake Off” drops listeners right back intoAna de Armas’ fire fight scene. Like many great movie soundtracks, theBallerinaalbum also has some solidly punny track names, like “In The Wick Of Time”.

The score forBallerinais the latest in what has become a very rich musical legacy for the larger franchise. Music has always been key to the series, with each film boasting at least one song written for it (forBallerina, it was “Fight Like A Girl” by Evanescence, which is not a part of this album.)
Tyler Bates spoke withScreenRantabout his musical journey withJohn Wick, even revealing a few big “almosts” along the way. But forBallerina, Bates and Richard pulled no punches, blending electronic music elements with guitar, bass, drums, and vocals for a hybrid sound that you can imagine a trained assassin taking down hordes of enemies to.
