The nextSwitchis heavily rumored to be released this year, and other important factors, like its price, were speculated on as well.
It seems that Nintendo has been hard at work on new games to be released for the Switch 2. Recent leaks suggest that a collection ofthe three mainBayonettagameswill be available on the future console. The individual behind these leaks, who has leaked accurate Nintendo news in the past, also predicted that Nintendo will announce the Switch 2 by the end of March this year. Although this is probably exciting news for Nintendo fans, this is still just speculation at this point. However, an industry insider recently shared his thoughts as well on Nintendo’s next console, and the details are quite interesting.

As part of aGamesindustry.bizinterview, Dr. Serkan Toto provided some insight on the Switch 2. Toto is the CEO of Kantan Games, a company that provides consultancy on the Japanese games industry. He believes that the Switch 2 will be “an iteration rather than a revolution,” and while the console will likely feature some exciting bells and whistles, it will ultimately be somewhat similar to the current Switch. Toto further explains that there is virtually zero chance that Nintendo will ever move away from the Switch’s portability feature, mainly due to thePokemonfranchise and its association with handheld gaming. Also, Toto predicts that the Switch 2 will be released in 2024 for $400, and that new games will increase to a price of $70, following the trend started by Microsoft and Sony.
Next Nintendo Console Predictions
Toto further explains that a Switch Pro was in the works at one point, with some developers even receiving dev kits. However, it was heavily rumored that theSwitch Pro’s development was eventually canceled, and Nintendo seems to have moved on.
Some fans speculate that are-release ofSuper Smash Bros. Ultimatewould make for a perfect Switch 2launch title.Ultimatehas become one of the Switch’s most popular games, and so an upgraded version could prove to be a hit. However, it remains to be seen what Nintendo’s plans are for theSuper Smash Bros.series and its next console.

This would be similar to a strategy seen during the first Switch’s launch, when Nintendo releasedMario Kart 8 Deluxe, a re-release of the popularMario Kart 8with all DLC included.Mario Kart 8 Deluxeenjoyed long-term popularity on the Switchand was a massive success.
