The New Yorker is continuing her romance with Aidan Shaw (John Corbett) inAnd Just Like Thatseason 3, but the couple has experienced hurdles along the way.

The revival has been more successful in its third chapter, garnering a 68%Rotten Tomatoesscore, although the ranking has decreased sinceAnd Just Like Thatseason 3’s premiere. Still,Carrie and Aidan’s romance has drawn people in, even though their best-laid plans, established at theend ofAnd Just Like Thatseason 2, have been a bust.
Aidan & Carrie Are Always Together, Despite Their Five-Year Deal From And Just Like That’s Season 2 Finale
Aidan Is Back In “Happily Ever After”
Shockingly, Carrie reveals inAnd Just Like Thatseason 3, episode 1, thatshe and Aidan have agreed to wait five years to be together, and during that time, Aidan has asked for no communication. Bradshaw is happy to oblige, sending Aidan blank postcards even though her friends hesitate to accept the arrangement as a proper romance.
However, the arrangement quickly fractures, with Aidan calling Carrie from his truck in the premiere. Since then,despite their agreement, Aidan and Carrie have continued to be in each other’s lives. Aidan comes to Manhattan to make things right, and Carrie eventually returns the favor, traveling to Virginia inAnd Just Like Thatseason 3, episode 3to see Shaw.

Since then, Aidan has been back to Manhattan twice. AfterAnd Just Like Thatseason 2, it seemed like we would see a lot less of Shaw, but it’s been quite the opposite.Aidan hasn’t honored the romantic agreement, and it has had little effect on how the couple conducts their long-distance partnership. Season 3 has abandoned their separation altogether.

With how things have unraveled,it’s impossible to believe that Carrie and Aidan will complete their five-year contract now. Shaw has virtually flipped the script on Carrie, realizing that he had been too rash inAnd Just Like Thatseason 3, episode 2. Now, Shaw keeps turning up at their apartment, arriving with luggage in “Happily Ever After” without explanation.
Rather than a welcome surprise, Aidan’s constant yet unreliable presence sows doubt that the romance will survive, let alone outlast the five years they laid out. Aidan gets jealous of Duncan Reeves (Jonathan Cake) inAnd Just Like Thatseason 3, episode 8. Since he’s already thrown out all his rules,there’s no telling how Aidan will navigate the situation.
