Over the course ofWill Trent’s three seasons, Will and Angie have been through a lot together. Their on-and-off romantic relationship (which began when they were teenagers) has been one of the most unhealthy, unsteady parts of their respective stories. Angie’s Mother Dies In Will Trent Season 3, Episode 15
Angie Breaks Her Sobriety After Her Mother’s Death
Angie’s mother, who was incredibly abusive to her growing up, dies atthe end ofWill Trentseason 3, episode 15, resulting in Angie falling off the wagon. Before her death, the hour flashes back to a handful of moments between Angie and her mother. The audience gets to see Angie as a teenager again (played by Savannah Hutson, who is the perfect casting for young Angie). This time, teenage Angie is with her mother, who appears to be a wonderful parent, uplifting her child. The audience knows better than to fall for the facade, though.
She even dreams about her mom waking up and telling her what she wants to hear (and the one thing she doesn’t — that Angie is an addict just like her).

But since he is sober, Angie falling off the wagon all but dooms their relationship, making it easier for Will and Angie to reunite.
