Throughout the new intro packages, the traditional oldBachelorstyle was gone andthe goofyBachelor In Paradiseschtick had changed completely. While the show was different at its core, the contestants weren’t.

Thoughthe group on the beaches ofParadisewere in a new setting and the structure of the show looks somewhat different, they were still facing the same issue of who to couple up with. As the episode finished out its third hour, there werea few men who weren’t sure what their fate would beafter the rose ceremony.

After Hakeem’s time onThe Bacheloretteseason 21, where he was eliminated during the third week of the season, Hakeem felt he needed to prove himself onBachelor In Paradiseseason 10.
Knowing he was going to be competing with otherBachelorNation contestants, Hakeem did his best to build connections quickly, but by the time the cocktail party before the rose ceremony was happening, he realized he didn’t have anything firm. Doing his best to turn heads,Hakeem tried to make a steady connection with one of the six women in power, but failed.

The Bacheloretteseason 21’s notorious villain Sam McKinneycame toBachelor In Paradiseseason 10 looking for a fresh start, and while he got a fair bit of screen time, he was left without a connection by the end of the episode.Sam was a charmer duringThe Bachelorette, but leftBachelorNation with a bad taste in their mouths after the season.
Coming intoParadise, Sam shared that he was looking to show a different side of himself and find someone he could have a true romance with. Instead, Sam went on some steamy dates and connected most thoroughly with Jess Edwards fromThe Bachelorseason 28. Ultimately, Jess gave her rose to Spencer Conley,leaving Sam without anyone to turn to.

Though he was nervous, Ricky made it clear that he wanted to bepart of theParadisecastand was genuinely looking for love.
Unfortunately, though he connected withThe Bachelorseason 29’sAlexe Godin, Ricky wasn’t able to secure a strong enough bond to make it through the first episode ofBachelor In Paradiseseason 10. Revealing he was mad at the fact that he was leaving post-elimination,Ricky’s ultimately going to be looking for love outside the show.

AsKyle Howard hasn’t been part ofBachelorNationin a while, he was concerned that some ofBachelor In Paradise’scast members wouldn’t know who he was. After appearing onThe Bacheloretteseason 17, Kyle took some time away from reality TV.He was prepared, however, to make a big connection inParadise.
Unfortunately, Kyle’s connections weren’t strong enough to get him a rose at the firstParadiserose ceremony of the season. Though he bonded with Bailey Brown,Kyle was ultimately booted the first week ofBachelor In Paradiseand shared a positive outlook on the experience before heading home. As one of the first eliminated contestants, he was glad he had a chance.
