Many of the top items are contested by other classes as they are also BiS for them too.If you’re struggling to get the top piece of gear for each slot then it would also be wise to know what other options are available. Use the table below to quickly navigate to each equipment slot to find multiple options in case your luck has been bad or the competition for that BiS item is too high.

Weapons

For the headpiece, the one from Mimiron is going to be far better than anything else, but will be BiS for many specs. For fights with a lot of movement keep the tier piece around for the 4-piece set bonus.

Best Neck For Balance Druid In WotLK Phase 2

A lot of great options for the neck slot, and some that include hit rating if needed to reach the hit cap, or if luck has been bad due to the #1 bis being highly contested.

Best Shoulder For Balance Druid In WotLK Phase 2

A lot of options here, but it’s best to go for the tier gear for the set bonuses.

Best Back For Balance Druid In WotLK Phase 2

The top option isn’t heavily contested and has hit rating, but the remaining options, all of which, are from Algalon. So if your healers don’t need it, the 25m hardmode is also okay.

The tier legs are a good choice to keep the set bonus as well, but the hardmode legs have great stat allocation.

A lot of bis boots are going to be cloth, but there is also a Leatherworking pattern that will be decent as well.

Both rings are highly contested with many other specs, but it’s good to see a 10m option up there.

Best Trinkets For Balance Druid In WotLK Phase 2

There are a lot of good trinkets to upgrade from phase 1, the very best trinket is a big boost over the others but expect it to be BiS for a lot of other specs.

Best Weapon For Balance Druid In WotLK Phase 2

The legendary weapon has the best overall stats and is BiS for sure, but due to the proc effect it is meant for healers. It would be replaced by other weapons in Phase 3 but Healers will still be looking to obtain it so don’t expect it to go to DPS. Most of the options on this list are pretty equal in terms of power. The MH OH combo typically yields more stats than a staff, but they are on the list too.

A lot of good options for the Off-hand slot that vary depending on your needs.

Best Idol For Balance Druid In WotLK Phase 2

The phase 1 idol purchased with emblems is still the best one to use. The one that drops from Kologarn is not an upgrade.

Best Gems For Balance Druid In Phase 2 - Ulduar

Be sure to replace aRuned Scarlet Rubywith the new fishing daily epic gemRuned Stormjewel. They are not soulbound so players can also purchase them at the auction house. Balance Druids will want to focus on getting these gems for each individual socket type:

Meta Gem Socket

The Crit gem still holds up as the BiS Meta Gem, typically players will want to usePurified Twilight Opalin 2 of their blue sockets.

Red Socket

For red sockets focus on Spell Power provided by these gems.

Blue Socket

For a blue socket, the Spell Power / Spirit gem is the best, only use 2 to activate the Meta Gem and aim to use it where the socket bonus is Spell Power.

Yellow Socket

Players can also use the orange gem below in yellow sockets, where the socket bonus is Spell Power, Crit is still a very strong stat.

Best Enchants For Balance Druid In Phase 2 - Ulduar

The list below shows which enchants players will want to use for their Balance Druid. These will likely be the same from Phase 1. Head and Shoulder enchants can be found via Reputation and the rest are from the professions (Enchanting, Leatherworking, and Blacksmithing) and can often be found at the Auction House. Some professions provide a better option that is Exclusive to the character that has the profession and should be used instead of the other options.
