An important lesson that Eve learns inBallerinashould also be explored inJohn Wick 5. SinceBallerinais set between the third and fourthJohn Wickmovies, its story probably won’t impact the fifth film. After all, Keanu Reeves' character goes through a lot at the end ofJohn Wick: Chapter 4. He concludes his feud against the High Table and then seemingly dies. SinceJohn Wick 5has been confirmed, it seems like he is still alive, but the movie will likely be the start of a new era for the franchise, nonetheless.

Even thoughBallerinawon’t impactJohn Wick 5’sstory, I hope the fifth movie still takes some ideas from the spinoff film. It may be the lowest-rated movie in the entire franchise, butreviews forBallerinaare still quite solid. Therefore, it should not be ignored in the franchise’s fifth movie. InBallerina, Ana de Armas' Eve Macarro learns how to be an effective assassin. Eve learns a lot of lessons in the film, butone specific lesson inBallerinaperfectly sets up a storyline that should be explored inJohn Wick 5.

Nogi Explains To Eve That An Assassin Can Kill Or Save In Ballerina

Assassins Are Not Just Killing Machines In The John Wick Franchise

The beginning ofBallerinashows Eve getting accepted into the Ruska Roma as a child. After this, Winston hands her a gold coin which she can use in the future if she ever needs a favor. Nogi, another member of the Ruska Roma, explains to Eve that the two sides of the coin have different meanings. According to Nogi, one side of the coin represents taking life, while the other represents saving life.

ThroughoutBallerina, Eve obviously chooses to focus on taking life, which is what John Wick also prioritizes in the franchise’s mainline films. However, one scene in the new action movie shows Eve protecting her friend, Tatiana, during training. Instead of solely focusing on protecting herself while fighting off enemies, this training allows Eve to learn how to protect someone else from danger. This lesson isn’t something that gets much attention later in the movie, but it should be further explored inJohn Wick 5.

John Wick 5 Should Be About Keanu Reeves' Character Saving Someone

John Wick’s Revenge Mission Is Now Over

Once Eve embarks on her revenge mission inBallerina, she doesn’t really need to protect anyone other than herself. However, the same can’t be said for John Wick. Even though he was sent to the Cult’s town to kill Eve at theend ofBallerina, John Wick actually ends up protecting her during the action-packed climax. By including this storyline,Ballerinashows off John Wick’s protective side, which should be further explored in the series' fifth movie.

It would be great to see John Wick protecting someone else in the fifth film, similar to how Eve protects her friend inBallerina’straining scene.

Throughout the first four movies, Reeves' character has basically only had to worry about himself. However, now that his war against the High Table is over,John Wick 5shouldn’t be about revenge. Instead, it would be great to see John Wick protecting someone else in the fifth film, similar to how Eve protects her friend inBallerina’straining scene. It would be very interesting if John Wick has to protect a child he has started to take care of or another one of his friends in the fifth movie, and would definitely differentiate it from the series' other films.

John Wick Protecting Someone Would Show A New Side Of The Character

John Wick Usually Fights Alone

After mostly fighting alone in the previous four movies, it would be a refreshing change to have John Wick fight alongside someone else in the fifth film. John Wick protecting a child would be an interesting direction to take the upcoming movie in, and would allow the fifth film to resemble other successful projects likeThe Last of UsorLogan. Therefore, showing more of his protective side would allowJohn Wick 5to peel back more layers of Reeves' character.

Additionally, the training scene with Eve and Tatiana inBallerinaproves how unique the action could be inJohn Wick 5if Reeves' character has to protect someone. Eve struggles to protect Tatiana while training, soJohn Wick having to protect someone in the fifth film could potentially put him in a much more vulnerable position. Since this is a franchise that is constantly trying to make its action sequences feel fresh and unique, I think it would be amazing to have John Wick try to protect someone else after watchingBallerina.
