Before Bruce can defeat Wraith, he manages to slip away. As the two prepare to leave, an angry Jason confronts Batman, accusing the hero of not having faith in his new sidekick.

Later, in the Batcave, Batman is thinking about his conversation with Jason. Once Alfred arrives, Batman tells his longtime ally that Alfred was right about Jason. Alfred’s shocked to hear Batman admit that, but Bruce again says that Alfred was right and thatit was a mistake to bring Jason into the foldand have him be a new Robin.

Bruce Admits That Being Robin Isn’t Meant for Everyone
Both in-universe and by real-life readers, Batman is occasionally criticized forhis use of the Robins. But no matter how many times the use of soldiers in his war on crime rears its head, Batman continues to use the Boys Wonder,citing them as capable heroeswho help him keep Gotham’s villains under control.
And yet, it seems like Batman harbors doubts about using the Robins, or at the very least the ones beyond Dick. Admittedly, Batman doesn’t pull Jason out, and Bruce continues to use Robins to this day. But at this particularly vulnerable moment in time, Batman was seriously questioning if what he was doing was right or not.
