Summary
Exoprimalis a multiplayer-focused game first and foremost. Players will join a squad of four other players and race against time to thwart a rival band of dinosaur hunters. It is a 5v5 situation that is not that unique in the multiplayer gaming space.

What is unique about the experience is the concept though. How many games are there likeExoprimalwherein dinosaurs rain from the sky via portals? The answer is zero. Even though there is nothing like it, that doesn’t mean there aren’t other games to recommend to people. Some examples are from Capcom while others are from other companies.
8Anthem
Anthemis almost a dead game at this point. EA is going to stop support come September 2023. The servers will remain online for an indeterminate amount of time though, but the clock is ticking. So yes, support has not been strong post-launch, but the game got a bad rap in 2019.
Itwas not BioWare’snextMass EffectorDragon Agebut it was a fun multiplayer game. Players could hack into a variety of suits with classes just like inExoprimal. They could play the game alone or team up with three other friends online, which is howAnthemwas meant to be played.

7Destiny 2
Destinyis theoriginal looter shooterthat Anthem and so many other games tried to copy. Some have found success while others didn’t get too far.Destiny 2, the sequel, has been going strong since 2017 when it launched.
There has been an endless amount of DLC and expansions over the years and it’s unknown when or if there will be a full-on sequel. Players can create teams of three on co-op missions called Strikes. It may seem daunting to jump in now, but the free access on any console makes it at least worth a look-see, right?

6Full Metal Furies
Full Metal Furiesis a misleading name since so many of these recommendations have mechs or super suits in them. The game is instead an old-school, top-down brawler starring four girls on a quest to save the world. Each girl is set up like a different class. Triss is the Sentinel who wields a shield and has high defenses.

Alex is the Fighter who is the heavy damage dealer and the list goes on. It’s a four-player co-op game that can be played online or offline. A lot of people missed it initially and it deserves all of the help it can get because it is fun and because it is from theRogue Legacyteam.
5Monster Hunter Rise
One of the most obvious recommendations has to beMonster Hunter Rise. It is the latest entry in the series and it has to be Capcom’s biggest multiplayer game to date. It also features dinosaur slaying action, or at least a lot of the monsters tend to look like dinosaurs.
That’s more apparent inMonster Hunter World, which is a good choice as well. Players can team up in parties, hunt monsters, collect loot, and get stronger in the process. The series does not require multiplayer, but it is a better time with online in mind.

4Outriders
Outridersis another looter shooter that tries to go after the Destiny formula. It features three-player co-op but the bonus is that it can be played from start to finish with a friend. That at least makes it unique aboveStrikes inDestiny.
Players are stranded on a foreign planet after their team gets blown up. In the chaos, a power surges into them and grants the player character elemental powers. Classes cannot be changed after the starting area and some elemental examples include controlling fire.

3Samurai Warriors 5
Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 3would be the best game to recommend from the Omega Force team within Koei Tecmo since it is about mechs. All of theDynasty Warriorgames and spinoffs are the same as they feature waves of hundreds of enemies.

It’s kind of like the waves of dinosaurs that shoot out inExoprimal, which is why at least one of these games has to be recommended.Samurai Warriors 5is the latest iteration in this sub-series and it is as good a place as any to start hacking and slashing away in. Most games, likeSamurai Warriors 5, offer two-player co-op too.
2SD Gundam Battle Alliance
Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 3is a great game but it is hard to play on modern consoles, which is whySamurai Warriors 5was the next best choice. A goodGundamgame outside of theDynasty Warriorsfranchise would beSD Gundam Battle Alliance.
It is a newer game that features a three-player co-op in bite-sized missions. The classic mechs from this anime series stretch as far back as the original iteration from 1979. It has a good amount of fan service and it’s a great multiplayer game to recommend to a younger audience since it has the chibi effect in play.

1Wild Hearts
Wild Heartsis another Omega Force game but it is not aDynasty Warriorsspinoff. It is their version ofMonster Hunter, which launched earlier this year. There are a lot of differences between the two franchises such as the ability to build things in battle.
Walls can hold back the giant monsters or knock them out while springs can launch players into the sky and give them an advantage from above. It’s a bit rough around the edges compared to Capcom’s best but this three-player co-op game is neat all the same.

Exoprimalwas released on July 03, 2025, and is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
