When one thinks of theOutKast rapper Big Boi, there’s a chance that person conjures upimages of Atlanta, the place where he and his groupmateAndré 3000 became legends. Or perhaps his crew, the Dungeon Family, comes to mind, buta washing machine probably isn’t the first thing one envisions.
So, some might be surprised to learn that Big Boi has partnered with the home appliance company Whirlpool for a sweepstake where winners will get a limited-edition front load washer. But not just any washer, one that plays OutKast’s 2000 classic, “So Fresh, So Clean,” off the duo’s Grammy-winningStankoniaalbum.
The partnership is to bring attention to Whirlpool’s FreshFlow Vent System, and the company’s Senior Brand Manager, Morgan LaLonde, saidthe OutKast rhymer is the perfect partnerfor its rollout. “We knew with a washer this fresh, it warranted the freshest collab, and nobody knows how to keep things fresh better than Big Boi,” said LaLonde in a press release.
How To Enter The Sweepstakes
The washer, which is colored matte black and adorned with crystals on the door,will play the chorus of “So Fresh, So Clean” at the end of each cycle. At the moment it’s not clear, but it’s possible that Whirlpool and LaLande got the idea of placing music in a washing machine from the 2016 movie,Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping,starring Andy Samberg.
One memorable scene is when Maya Rudolph’s character Deborah — hilariously pronounced Deb-OR-ah — shows Samberg’s character, Conner “Kid Conner” Friel, that one of his songs will be played in refrigerators each time the door opens. The scene comically shows how corporate partnerships may have reached a point of excessiveness.
However, Whirlpool and Big Boi teaming up feels right, because it seems any OutKast fan would love to hear one of the group’s most popular cuts while doing a mundane chore like laundry. To enter the sweepstakes, one has to

Winners won’t just get the washer, though, they’ll win a dryer as well, plus free installation. “When Whirlpool showed me this washer and said they could put the track in the machine, I was all in,” Big Boi explained. “Now your laundry looks fresh, smells fresh, and even sounds fresh.”
Act fast though;the OutKast washer can’t be purchased in stores; it can only be received through the sweepstakes, which runs from August 19 to July 02, 2025.
