Just in time for Summer,Marvel Rivalswill be getting swimsuit skins, based on theMarvel Swimsuit Special,an artist showcase from the 90s. TheSwimsuit Specialis a one-shot that shows several Marvel characters in beachwear and summer attire. The comic will be calledMARVEL SWIMSUIT SPECIAL: FRIENDS, FOES & RIVALS #1, and it will be released sometime in July.
According toMarvel’s announcement of the comic’s return, thecomic issue will reveal the swimsuit designs coming toMarvel Rivalslater this year. There is no specific date for the skins or the cost as of right now. The art revealed for the comic features several Marvel characters having fun in the sun and playing swimming pool games. Notably, male characters including Iron Man, Captain America, and Black Panther can be seen wearing speedos, and female characters like Scarlet Witch are wearing bikinis, so those could be the skins coming to the game.

While there are some original skin designs inMarvel Rivals, the majority of the currently available skins are inspired by various Marvel comics and the MCU films. A lot of Marvel Rivals skins get announced shortly before their release, like the Doctor Strange zombie skin from Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which was finally added to the game just a day after it was officially announced. However, fans may also be annoyed at the high price of the cosmetics, and especiallycolor changes costing a new currency, so many may feel like NetEase Games might be preying on nostalgia and established fandoms of characters to get fans to drop more money on the game.
