Modern Warfare’s weekly updates have been keeping the shooter fresh since its release in 2019, and its newly-begun season 2 run of content is already promising a whole host of updates, including thehighly-anticipated Battle Royale mode. Those who have playedCall of Duty: GhostsorInfinite Warfareshould already be fairly familiar with how Reinforce works, but for everyone else, Infinity Ward’s rundown of the mode offers a solid starting place.

Reinforce mode combines Domination’s flag capture element with a lives system that looks reminiscent of Search and Destroy and Cyber Attack; to win, players must either eliminate all opponents in the round, overwhelm opponents by capturing all three flags at once, or have the most flags captured when time runs out. Downed teammates can be respawned by capturing a new flag, so having the advantage in numbers is never a guarantee during the match.

Each round win nets a point for the winning team, and the first team to gather a total of four points wins the game. InitsModern Warfareincarnation, Reinforce matches will take place in darkness using night vision mode, so players will have to exercise a bit more care than they would in regular daylight.

Due to its fusion of gameplay elements, players have a wide variety of tactics they can useduring Reinforce matches; according to Infinity Ward, capturing the A or C flag (as those will be closest to the player spawning point) right at the start of the match is a good opening move. Players should also consider moving in groups of at least two, rather than playing the lone wolf: keep home base secure while another team makes the offensive push toward flag B, and use either smoke or the Deployable Cover Field Upgrade to win it. In addition, while Reinforce isn’t a single-life mode, thereisa lot of importance in staying alive–should a player become the last standing, they’ll need to capture a flag to resurrect the rest of the team.

It goes without saying that everyone has their own style of playingModern Warfare, and obviously, tactics can change with each of theavailable multiplayer maps. However, players going into Reinforce modeonce season 2 deliversshould remember above all else that teamwork is the key to success.
