The Librarians: The Next Chapterstar Jessica Green has discussed what Charlie’s new side will be like in season 2. A spinoff of TNT’s smartfantasy adventure seriesThe Librarians,The Next Chapterfollows Vikram, a Librarian from the 19th century, trapped in the modern day, alongside a warlord he was trying to stop.
Vikram is tasked with assembling a new team of Librarians to help him clean up his mess when he unwittingly unleashed magic into the world. Among the team members isGreen’sCharlie Cornwall, a Guardian in charge of overseeing Librarians, who seeks her own redemption, but her stoic, serious nature could be set to change next season.

In an interview withScreenRant’s Grant Hermanns,Green talked about what the show’s future may hold for Charlie, and discusses the changes that the character is set to undergo in the coming season. She talked about how Charlie is set to let her hair down a little bit, and have a bit more fun than she did in season 1.
Green discussed how Charlie will lighten up a bit, and her serious side will not be as dominant inThe Next Chapterseason 2. She also talked about how much fans like it when Charlie “lets her hair down a little bit,” and how much she enjoys the more light-hearted aspects of her character. Read Green’s comments below:

“I guess what I’ve seen so far is fans really like when she lets her hair down a little bit, and she lets herself have a little bit of fun with the others. You definitely get to see a lot more of that in season 2, and I love getting to play that so much more than the serious gal that she is in season 1.”
What This Means For The Librarians: The Next Chapter Season 2
Season 2 Could Seek To Increase The Levity
The Librarians: The Next Chapterseason 1 was not exactly a dark show, but some of the themes are weighty, and the light-hearted elements work well when introduced. Charlie is one of the most complexcharacters inThe Next Chapter, and her difficult past and struggle for redemption often makes her serious and by-the-book.
However, the opportunity to portray a more light-hearted and potentially"goofy"side to the charactersounds like it’s something Green has been waiting for. Charlie’s long-term arc should have already been planned in advance, but the evolution of the character is going to be fun to watch as it unfolds.
A less uptight Charlie is sure to increase the levity in the show, and add a more playful dynamic to the team, and this is something that will take the character in a fun and exciting direction. She will hopefully find it easier to bond with the other characters if she is letting her hair down a little more.

Charlie’s character transition could turn her into a long-term fan-favorite character. Her gradual personality change and openness to having more fun is going to make her a much more fun and enjoyable character. Charlie’s story will be pivotal toThe Librarians: The Next Chaptermoving forward, and it will be interesting to see a new side to her.
