Coffee Chats no.7 w/ Liza Koshy
Milk & Pull Has Been A Favorite Spot Of Koshy’s Since Moving To Brooklyn
Koshy is the firstCoffee Chatsguest to take the series outside of Manhattan, and it’s for good reason. As an avid coffee drinker and a new Brooklyn resident, Milk & Pull has quickly become a go-to for Koshy.
My personal connection [to Milk & Pull] is the fact that I moved to Brooklyn about six months ago, and I love it here. There are so many businesses at stake and there are so many businesses that need your love and need your money. This couple that started this cafe got married 10 years ago, founded this business together and have delicious coffee and multiple selections of chai. I’m looking at the owner with love in my eyes.

Liza Koshy Praises The Naked Gun’s Energetic Ensemble
“There’s something for everyone in the movie…”
Koshy finds herself among the infamous Police Squad, the group of cops that make up the heart ofThe Naked Gunfranchise, as Detective Barnes. While the unit has several comedic actors, including Koshy herself and Paul Walter Hauser, they are led by famed dramatic actor Liam Neeson.
“It’s a comedy, but it’s also played as a drama. Leslie Nielsen from the original Naked Guy trilogy, he was actually from a soap opera background, pure drama all the time. To put him into a world of comedy where he played solely strict deadpan dry drama, it played to the comedy perfectly. The comedy’s in the background, it’s on fire. It’s in the word play. It’s not something you play up with facial expressions so much. It’s drama really. It’s drama with something on fire in the back.”

And that comedy is able to land because of the atmosphere it comes in. Many critics have praisedThe Naked Gunfor spearheading the resurgence of the theatrical comedy. Koshy emphasized that the shared laughter environment is what helps make this legacy sequel land.
“There’s something for everyone in the movie, whether it’s slapstick or dry deadpan. There’s so many reasons to go and see it in theaters. [Watching it at home], that’s like ordering eggs on Postmates. You should enjoy in in the environment it’s cooked in. You enjoy your coffee at Milk & Pull. You need to enjoy your movies in the theater.”

From Vine To Hollywood: Koshy Reveals The Secret To Success
“It’s a lot of delusional confidence, a lot of just believing…”
The Naked Gunrepresents Koshy’s biggest theatrical role to date. Her acting career has skyrocketed in the 2020s, as her catalog includes blockbuster titles likeTransformers: Rise of the Beastsand streaming smash hits likeKPop Demon Hunters.
“I believe it’s a lot of delusional confidence, a lot of just believing and knowing in my gut that this is exactly what I want to do. I love to perform so much. I love to take on a character. I love to find the humanity, find the empathy for that person, their fallible characteristics. I love finding what makes people tick. I think I would’ve minored in psychology had I continued in college, but I just find that you may see yourself in other people by stepping into their shoes and being able to do that for a living and just tell stories that go unheard a lot of the time. That’s just where my focus is at and what I love to do, and I just have a passion for it, and there’s just a neutral feeling in my gut when I say that. It just feels like a fact, and I encourage people to listen to that frequency versus the frequency of the internet. The internet moves a thousand miles per hour, but your gut moves all of one mile per hour, maybe less. It’s nice to slow down a bit.”

“I pride myself on being a conversationalist, and there’s no better setting to chat it up with someone than a cafe,” ScreenRant Reporter, Host Liam Crowley said. “Back when I attended Syracuse University, I used to make’coffee review’videos with my friends on my social media. To essentially expand that 60-second concept into a full-blown production and be accompanied by some of the biggest names in Hollywood is a true ‘pinch me’ moment.”
“From the moment I reached out to Liam about joining ScreenRant’s New York team, we envisioned expanding our content offerings with engaging, in-depth interviews, including an original series,” ScreenRant Editorial, Branding, and PR Director Rob Keyes said. “Liam already had an idea for this, and Coffee Chats perfectly embodies this vision, offering a unique format that connects audiences with leading industry talent while supporting local businesses.
