Xur has returned again toDestiny 2, complete with new exotic and legendary gear for players to check out for a limited time. While his inventory can certainly be hit or miss, players may want to pay closer attention to his wares over the next few weeks.Bungie recently detailed a number of weapon and gear changescoming inside of Lightfall, providing a boost to certain overlooked exotics like The Queenbreaker as well as tweaking and balancing plenty of others.
To help further increase the hype,Bungie also released a new Lightfall trailershowcasing many of the new exotics. Deterministic Chaos is machine gun that rhythmically debuffs enemies through various rounds, while a new Glaive named Winterbite essentially shoots freezing stasis orbs. New gear like the Hunter’s Cyrtarachne’s Façade provides unique perks for players including flinch resistant armor, a barricade that shoots out Strand energy and more.

For now, the weekend merchant Xur has finally arrived back inside ofDestiny 2for another weekend visit. Follow this guide for his most current weekend location, news on his exotic cipher quest, as well as a review of all the exotic and legendary gear he’s brought for the weekend of July 23, 2025.
Where is Xur?
This weekend, players can find Xur in the European Dead Zone in the Winding Cove zone.
Fast travel to the Winding Cove zone and immediately head towards the back where the Fallen typically patrol. Climb the cliffs back here to find Xur standing on a ledge not too far from a crashed ship.
Class Armor and Exotic Cipher
Xur’s role continues to offer the usual weekly quests, exotics, and legendary gear. Not only are these quests required to purchase a second fated engram, but they’re necessary toacquire legacy exotic gear from the Tower kiosk. Players can earn a new cipher by completing strikes and winning crucible or gambit matches. Gain bonus points for playing with clan mates or finishing more challenging activities.
Xur continues to sell even more gear outside his usual content. In addition to his normal exotic gear, Xur now has Legendary Weapons and Armor for sale in exchange for Legendary Shards and Glimmer.
Exotic Armor
Felwinter’s Helm - Warlock helmet
This weekend, Warlocks can grab Felwinter’s Helm from Xur. While the item suffered a player friendly damage bug back in season 10 where it proc’d the special ability after each kill,Bungie ultimately disabled Felwintersin order to fix it.
Felwinter’s remains a solid exotic, though it’s not likely going to replace the traditional go to items. The item comes with the Warlord’s End perk that turns any Solar, Void, or Arc melee kill into a burst of energy that weakens nearby enemies. Finishers and elite kills make this burst stronger through a bigger radius and longer debuff. The roll this week is solid at a 62, with an extremely high Intellect stat of 24.

Raiju’s Harness - Hunter chest armor
Just on sale two weeks ago, not much has really changed with Raiju’s Harness. Its exotic ability is known as Mobius Conduit which doesn’t consume super energy when guarding with the Arc Staff and also allows Hunters to terminate the super early to save energy.
The exotic itself seems to be lower on the tier list and while it’s solid, there are still better options at the moment for Hunters. The roll is 1 point better this week, though its still nothing to write home about.
Doom Fang Pauldron- Titan gauntlets
Another item that’s been feature recently, it’s the Doom Fang Pauldrons for Titan players. Its exotic perk, Horns of Doom, grant super energy on void melee kills. Not only that, melee kills recharge Shield Throw when Sentinel Shield is active, also extending the super on basic hits.
Needless to say, this is a great item forSentinel Titansjust for the added recharge effect alone. The melee benefits also apply to players using a void sword as well, not just for using the Titan melee attack. The stats for this week are the highest of the three items at a 63, with an incredibly high 20 Resilience and dual 15s for Intellect and Strength.
Exotic Weapon
This week’s exotic weapon has a complicated history with Destiny 2. At one point, the Lord of Wolves shotgun was one of the most used weapons in the game thanks to a bug that caused the weapon to basically just melt enemies. WhileBungie let the gun run wild in Cruciblea little longer than it would have liked, the gun is currently nowhere near as fearsome as it once was. Even still, it remains a strong close quarters weapon and is worth a look for those who don’t yet have it.
Its Intrinsic perk is called Shrapnel Launcher which causes the gun to fire a powerful short-range burst of solar damage. However, its trait called Release the Wolves is what really enhances this weapon’s potency. Players that hold the reload button can swap to a longer, more powerful burst.
Additional perks:
Since Season 16 removed the Presage and Harbinger exotic missions,Xur is also selling both Hawkmoon and Dead Man’s Tale with randomized rolls. Players should visit him each weekend as he’ll be carrying different rolls.
