Earlier this week,Devil May Cry 5developer Capcom uploaded a new trailer for the action-adventure hack and slash game, complete with a new theme song for series protagonist Dante. However, it was abruptly removed due to the backlash over the theme song. Created by American deathcore band Suicide Silence, Dante’sDevil May Cry 5theme song was titled “Subhuman.”
When the trailer went live, many also looked into the band behind this song. It was quickly discovered and shared that the vocalist, Eddie Hermida, was accused of having a relationship with and sexually harassing a 16-year-old fan. The sexual harassment included pressure for nude photos, but Hermida claimed he waited until she was 18 to ask anything sexual and that she lied to him about her age.

As a result, fans have frequently tweeted at the Devil May Cry 5 producer Matt Walker, and the video was taken down. Following this discovery, Capcom issued the following statement:
In lieu of the Dante trailer, then, Capcom re-released its Gamescom trailer with an additional line or two of dialogue. The portion related to Dante has been edited to loop Nero’s Ali Edward’s"Devil Trigger" instead of “Subhuman.” While the fate of the in-game music remains uncertain, the game still has plenty to offer its players, including theserecently-revealed Devil Breaker weapons.
Furthermore, the title is also reportedly offering amultiplayer and co-op feature, which some - if not most - are bound to like. With all this and more, many are likely looking forward to the release ofDevil May Cry 5, with or without Suicide Silences' “Subhuman.”
Devil May Cry 5releases July 10, 2025, for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
