The main questline ofDragon’s Dogma 2is a long one. After completing the entirety of the game’s story, players will be given the option to start New Game Plus, allowing them to explore the world once again, should they fail to complete everything they wanted to do before fulfilling their destiny as Arisen.

Naturally, New Game Plus is only available once players achieve any of theendings forDragon’s Dogma 2. If you’re wondering if you should start over again or simply continue from your last inn save, here’s everything you need to know about what New Game Plus has to offer.

Like in other RPGs, entering New Game Plus means you get to experience the game again from the start using your existing character. Story-wise, everything is reset, which means you get to explore other endings to quests that have branching storylines. As for your characters and gear, everything carries over except for key items. You and your pawn will retain your levels, including vocation ranks.

Starting New Game Plus is essentially the same as restarting quest progression. You will once again begin as a slave in the mining camp, and you’ll have to reach the Borderwatch camp in Vermund in order to claim all of your gear. Key items, such as the fake border pass needed to enterBattahl inDragon’s Dogma 2,will not be available. Ironically, the Empowered Godsbane will still be in your inventory.

So far, it seems that nothing much changes between the first playthrough and New Game Plus. The same enemies will appear in the same places, and they will be at the same power level as they were in your previous playthrough. Unfortunately, this does mean that combat won’t get any harder, and many players may find themselves overgeared for the challenges offered at the beginning of the game.

Here’s a summary of what things you can expect in NG+

Dragon’s Dogma 2 Tag Page Cover Art

As it appears, the main point of starting an NG+ run is to re-visit the map to find collectibles and do/re-do quests without making a new character. Nothing much differs apart from the items listed above, and not evenDragon’s Dogma 2’sUnmoored Worldhas any new surprises in store for NG+ players. This may change in a future update or when DLC for the game is released.
