A longer video on All-Nippon News Network shows around five minutes of footage also confirming the arrest and detainment. With both the article of Jiji Press and the video from All-Nippon News Network, more details regarding BlackRay’s arrest have been made public.

Charges Have Been Alleged Against BlackRay And Others

On August 08, 2025, pro esports player BlackRay from team CAG Osaka was arrestedby Tokyo Metropolitan Police, specifically on charges of allegedly confining a person for upwards of three months. According to reports, BlackRay and seven other unnamed men kidnapped a contractor of around 30+ years of age and confined him to a solitary location. Accusations say that this was an attempt to blackmail the kidnapped individual into paying his kidnappers an undisclosed sum of money.

Reports suggest that BlackRay and the others with him"allegedly poured boiling water"on the man they confined, while they also"beat him with a hammer, and caused serious injuries such as fractured ribs, a broken lower back, and burns all over his body that required six months to recover."

Other reports have stated that the victim may have been injured in other ways, such as being stabbed with a screwdriver and having a hot frying pan pressed against his body.Sources state that these actions were allegedly recordedby BlackRay and shared among the perpetrators. Other statements have mentioned that BlackRay and others threatened the confined man in order for him to pay them more money during his forced detainment.

In total, it is estimated that the confined man was forced to pay nearly two million Yen (around $13,000) while confined. This extortion ended when the victim was found on Jul 09, 2025, when police found him as a passenger in a vehicle that was part of a car crash with a taxi cab. The suspect driving the car involved in the crash fled the scene, butit is believed that the larger situation took place anywhere from February to April 2025.
