One of the biggest legacy sequels of the year wasFinal Destination Bloodlines, the continuation of the classic horror/thriller franchise primarily from the 2000s. The movie broughtFinal Destinationback to theaters for the first time in nearly 15 years, and so far,Bloodlines’reviewshave shown that the franchise is still operating at full force. One major positive strewn throughout the reviews was the performances by the central cast, most notably one of the franchise’s most recognizable recurring actors, Tony Todd, who has played William Bludworth in most of the movies.

TheFinal Destinationseries is an anthology, with each movie, includingBloodlines, having a unique cast, but Bludworth has been one of the few recurring characters, appearing in four out of the six films. His role as a mentor is usually to explain how death worksin theFinal Destinationfranchise, and what the characters can do to avert their fates. However,Bloodlineswas Todd’s final film in the series, and now the main question is what character will replace him in the future.

Bludworth Mentions Kimberly During The Events Of Bloodlines

InBloodlines, one of the more interesting connections to the franchise’s history was when Bludworth revealed that he knew about the survival of one character, Kimberly Corman (A.J. Cook).Kimberly was the protagonist ofFinal Destination 2, during which she survived a crash on the highway, leading to her being placed on Death’s list. During the movie, she drowned, but was quickly resuscitated, and,as per the rules of Death, she was able to walk away freely without having to actually die.

An alternate ending forFinal Destination 3revealed that Kimberly was killed by a woodchipper, thoughBloodlineshas now confirmed that ending to be non-canon.

When Bludworth was explaining Death’s rules toBloodlines’s characters, he revealed that she was the only person who had ever survived being on Death’s list, at least that he knew of. The two characters crossed paths in the second movie, with Bludworth explaining the rules of Death to Kimberly and her friends. Nowit is officially confirmed that they had at least some contact after the ending of that film, as he knows of her survival.

Kimberly Corman Could Return In Final Destination 7 & Replace Bludworth

Bloodlines Showed That Kimberly Could Reappear

AsTodd won’t be returning forFinal Destination 7, Kimberly could very well take his place as the one who understands how Death works, and act as the mentor figure to whoever the main characters are in that movie. While very few actors have returned for multiple roles in the franchise, as mostFinal Destinationcharacters end up dead pretty quickly, the fact thatKimberly was mentioned by name could very well mean that she has a bigger futurein the series, especially as her survival puts her in a unique position.

Kimberly Corman Would Be A Totally Different Ally For Death’s Targets

Kimberly Wouldn’t Simply Recreate Bludworth’s Character

While one of the biggest criticisms of theFinal Destinationmovies has always been that they’re very similar, Kimberly taking on a mentorship role would be a great way to keep the series feeling fresh as it continues to produce more movies.Todd’s performance was fairly calm and measured, bringing a great presence to the movie that felt almost supernatural, even though, at the end of the day,Bludworth was just a man, albeit one with much more experience with Death than most.

Cook did give a great performance as Kimberly, and she would undoubtedly be a very fun replacement character.

On the other hand,Kimberly was portrayed as much less calm and measured, though, to be fair, she went through some extreme circumstances during her movie. However, Cook did give a great performance as Kimberly, and she would undoubtedly be a very fun replacement character. She could also add a new angle to the franchise, as she is the only person in the series to actually cheat Death, so it would be very interesting to see her perspective on things after the events ofFinal Destination Bloodlines.
