The showrunner of CBS’sGhostsrevealed that the most-awaited showdown will finally happen in season 5. DuringGhosts’ panel atSan Diego Comic-Con, whichScreenRant’s own Rachel Foertsch attended, Joe Wiseman revealed that Patience and Elias will meet inGhostsseason 5, leading to a potentially very dramatic showdown that fans have been waiting for some time now.
Elias and Jay’s pact established Elias as an even bigger villain with the revelation of his true objectives to everyone inGhostsseason 4’s ending, and his affiliation with Hell makes him Patience’s perfect foe on whom to unleash her worst. Wiseman’s promise of a showdown and “to deliver on that” makesGhostsseason 5 even more interesting.

Wiseman’s comment at the San Diego Comic-Con panel ofGhostsonly mentioned a showdown between Elias and Patience happening, never officially tying it toJay’s massiveGhostsseason 5 problem. However,Patience being very evidently against evil and Elias doing the Devil’s bidding by catching souls inevitably puts Jay’s predicament at the center of a showdownbetween the two.
With Patience already sniffing for something evil in the mansion and the barn inGhostsseason 4’s ending, and Elias’s presence there being only revealed at the very end of the episode, their showdown could have to do with something else entirely, unrelated to Jay.
However, withGhostsseason 5’s biggest threat being the one against Jay’s soul, it’s unlikely that Elias and Patience will never fight about that, especially in light of the fact that Patience saving Jaywould forever make her respected by and a friend of Samand theWoodstone Mansion spirits.

Were Elias and Patience’s showdown to be about Jay, it would be theGhostsfight with the biggest stakes. It could simultaneously be so for the payoff, as Patience winning would mean Jay could be saved, and for the simple fact ofputting two of the most unpredictable characters against one another by having Elias and Patience fight.
