AGilmore Girlsstar has joined the upcoming 2026 Colleen Hoover movie,Reminders of Him. Now, the upcoming Colleen Hoover adaptation has added another cast member. According toDeadline,Gilmore Girlsstar Lauren Graham is the latest to join the cast ofReminders of Him. It is confirmed that Graham will be playing Grace Landry, the mother of the main character’s late boyfriend.

Based on the 2022 novel by Colleen Hoover, who also co-wrote the script with Lauren Levine,Reminders of Himwill follow Kenna Rowan(played by Maika Monroe), a young mother who, after spending five years in prison for a tragic mistake, returns to her hometown hoping to reconnect with her young daughter. However, she is now being raised by the parents of her late boyfriend, and Kenna seems to encounter hostility and skepticism from everyone around her, who are determined to keep them apart.
Lauren Graham is playing Grace Landry, the mother of Kenna’s late boyfriend, Scotty, in the story. Following his tragic death, Grace and her husband take in and raise Kenna’s daughter. Grieving the loss of their son, they become increasingly protective of her and begin to harbor deep resentment towards Kenna, believing she is unfit to be part of the child’s life. Overall, Grace is a central figure in the story, representing the central emotional tension involving loss and forgiveness.

Lauren Graham seems to be a strong choice for the role of Grace Landry inReminders of Him. Known for her portrayal of the single motherLorelai inGilmore Girls, Graham has long mastered the nuances of motherhood, especially balancing warmth, wit, and emotional vulnerability. However, while Lorelai was a vibrant and free-spirited mother, Grace is marked by grief, overprotectiveness, and resentment.
However, both characters seem to share a fierce maternal instinct and an unwavering dedication to their child’s well-being. In turn, Graham should be able to effectively portray Grace’s internal conflict, torn between honoring her late son and resisting Kenna’s return.
