Trigger warning: This article contains discussions of sexual assault.
Michael Sheen is in doubt whetherGood Omensseason 3 will ever be released following the sexual assault allegations against Neil Gaiman. The Prime Video fantasy series is set to conclude its third and final installment, wrapping up the cliffhanger from the season 2 finale.Good Omens, which stars Sheen and long-time friend and colleague David Tennant, is based on the books written by Gaiman, who had been heavily involved withGood Omensup until season 3. This changed after serious sexual assault allegations were made against Gaiman by nine separate women.
In aninterview with The Times, Sheen confirmed that the one-off finale ofGood Omenshas completed filming. However, given Gaiman’s ongoing assault accusations and lawsuits, he is uncertain whether anyone will ever get to see it. The actor described the context of the situation as “difficult, complicated, [and] disturbing,” going on to explain that whether theGood Omens' season 3 episode ever appeared on Prime Video was “out of [his and Tennant’s] hands.” See Sheen’s full comment below:

“I really don’t know what’s going to happen with it. We [Sheen and Tennant] were both relieved we finished the story, but that’s within this really difficult, complicated, disturbing context. I hope people get to see it, but that, to a large extent, is out of our hands.”
What Sheen’s Comments Mean For Good Omens Season 3
It All Depends On Prime Video Now
Although it’s difficult to say what’s going on behind the scenes at Prime Video, Sheen’s comments aboutGood Omensseason 3 suggest that the feature-length episode is essentially ready to go. Sheen and Tennant have done their part and appear to feel satisfied that they completed the overarching story. However, Sheen’s sentiment that whether anyone ever sees the 90-minute episode is out of his handsindicates that Prime Video is holding off on an official release. Gaiman’s very serious situation is still ongoing, so Amazon may be being hesitant so as to avoid controversy.
Unfortunately, ifGood Omens' final installment never sees the light of day, then it would mean that the story would have ended on an unfortunate cliffhanger. This had been previously addressed by Sheen’s costar, Tennant, who shared that there had beena “slight rejig” to make a finale forGood Omenspossible.“I think it would have been very difficult to leave it on a cliffhanger,“Tennant said,“So I’m glad it’s been worked out.“Despite the actor’s confidence that the situation had been handled,Good Omensis far from being in the clear.

Our Take On Sheen’s Good Omens Comments
The Completed 90-Minute Episode Could Still Be Released
It would be a significant disappointment ifthefinal episode ofGood Omenswere never released on Prime Video, especially given that filming has already been completed. While it would be understandable for other Gaiman adaptations that hadn’t quite gotten off the ground to be canceled,it seems reasonable that the finished ending of a 6-year-running series would be granted to viewers. Of course, Sheen is correct that the seriousness of the allegations against Gaiman makes the situation far trickier. Just as it’s out of the actor’s hands, there’s not much else we can do but hope.
