Green Lanternmay have just outed himself as a secretBerserkfan, thanks to his latest construct that looks like it was inspired directly by Guts’ iconic Dragon Slayer sword. But instead of slaying dragons with his newest weapon, this Green Lantern is riding them into battle, or more accurately, riding these cosmic entities into battle.
Berserkis a dark fantasy animetelevision series based on Kentarō Miura’s manga of the same name. The series is known for its sword-wielding, morally grey protagonist, Guts, who battles his way through a brutal and unforgiving world filled with demons, knights, and other horrors using his signature blade, Dragon Slayer.

This massive sword makes Guts instantly recognizable, even to the most casual fans. The series has a huge fan base, and if Green Lantern’s latest construct is any indication, he might be among them.He wields a sword that looks like it was lifted straight from Guts himself, though with some unique details.
Green Lantern ChannelsBerserkin Epic Variant Cover
Cover B Davide Paratore Variant forGreen Lantern#26 (2025)
Jeremy Adams and V. Ken Marion’sGreen Lantern#26 is still months away from its July 15, 2025, release date. However, the issue has already set the internet abuzz thanks to some notable cover art, one of which is a variant by Davide Paratore that features a Green Lantern who appears to beHal Jordan, wielding a massive sword construct.Resting on Hal’s shoulder, the size of the blade is undeniable. Hal is no small man, standing at 6'2", yet the sword still manages to dwarf him. Its massive size, rectangular shape, and minimalist design echoGuts’ Dragon Slayer fromBerserk, though several distinct features make it unmistakably a Green Lantern weapon.
In addition to the trademark green glow of a Lantern’s constructs, a closer look at the sword reveals the Green Lantern symbol, the Central Power Battery, etched near the base of the blade. The engraving is stripped down to its essence, capturing the iconic logo with simple lines that make it a subtle yet undeniably badass detail. Granted, Lantern constructs typically do not show this level of detail within the story itself. However, the point of this cover isn’t canon accuracy but sheer badassery, making it nothing short of perfect. This cover is beyond epic, but it’s not the only one worth noting.

DC’s Lanterns Unleash the Emotional Spectrum in the Most Epic Way Yet
Main Cover by V. Ken Marion forGreen Lantern#26 (2025)
V. Ken Marion’s main cover forGreen Lantern#26 is also worth noting, standing as an unadulterated masterpiece of artistic talent. This cover features what appears to be Hal Jordan, Kyle Rayner, and Carol Ferris riding on the backs of three monstrous cosmic entities that embody three of theemotions from the emotional spectrum, which make up the various colors of DC’s Corps.Hal Jordan is shown riding the yellow Parallax(fear), shackling the creature with his constructs as he drives the beast forward under his command, while Carol rides the purple Predator (love).
However, it is perhaps Kyle who stands out the most on this cover, as he is the one picturedwielding the Dragon Slayer-esque blade while riding on the back of the green Ion(willpower). Kyle also strikes a particularly heroic pose, with one leg extended and the other bent in an almost surfer-like position, his sword pointed in the direction he and his comrades are undoubtedly charging toward, as if to say“onwards”to the entities beneath them. Hopefully, given all the attention to massive blades and emotional entities on these covers, they will come to life in the actual narrative of the issue.
