Hayden Christensen is confirmed to be shootingAhsokaseason 2 until at least October. The legendary star of the prequel trilogy, Hayden Christensen has returned toStar Wars- even appearing as Anakin Skywalker’s Force Ghost inAhsokatwo years ago. He’s already confirmed forAhsokaseason 2.
TheHayden Christensen stanTwitter account has spotted a new report suggesting the actor intends to be shootingAhsokaseason 2 until at least October.Spacecon San Antoniohad apparently hoped to have Christensen as a guest in late October (the event runs from October 24-26). Posting to Facebook, the organizers noted:

“We had attempted to have Hayden Christensen return to appear with The Emperor “Ian McDiarmid”……but Hayden is still filming the next season of “Ahsoka” and is unable to commit.”
Ahsokaseason 2 began filming in April, with Christensen heading straight to the U.K. to join filming. He canceled an appearance at Comic Con Manchester in July due to ongoing production, andit seems he’s expected to be on set until October- when rumors suggest filming is supposed to end.
Hayden Christensen’s Role Is Even Bigger Than We Thought
Christensen Increasingly Feels Like A True Secondary Character
Christensen’s Anakin Skywalker played a key role in the first season ofAhsoka, taking on his former Padawan in a duel in theWorld Between Worlds(also a delightful opportunity for Christensen to work alongside his good friend Rosario Dawson). He was briefly seen again at theend ofAhsoka, a Force Ghost watching over Ahsoka and Sabine.
There’s been intense speculation thatAhsokaseason 2 will deal with the balance of the Force, utilizing cosmic entities called theMortis Gods- beings created by Lucas as archetypes of the Force itself. These theories seem a lot more likely now, given Christensen feels like a secondary character rather than a cameo.
What Does This Mean For Anakin Skywalker’s Star Wars Story?
The Mortis Gods Redefined Balance
Lucas was never entirely clear what “balance” meant in the context of theStar Warsmovies; he initially seemed to suggest it meant destroying the dark side, butStar Wars: The Clone Warshinted at a different approach. One story introduced the Mortis Gods, avatars of the Force who embodied light, dark, and balance, and who needed to coexist for universal flourishing.
The Disney era has seemed to follow this approach, and it increasingly feels as thoughAhsokawill commit to this - finally explaining what it means for Anakin Skywalker to be the Chosen One, the being destined to bring balance to the Force. If that is indeed the case, thenAhsokaseason 2 could be the most importantStar Warsstory in years.
