There aren’t that many lengthy shows that I’d recommend watching twice, but HBO’sSuccessionis undoubtedly one of them. OverSuccession’sfour seasons, spanning six years,the show became one of HBO’s crowning achievements, garnering 75 Emmy nominations and 19 wins, sweeping major categories virtually every year.
Succession’sendingwas over two years ago, and with enough distance from the drama, it’s fair to say it’s one of thebest TV shows of all time. For anyone who never got the chance to watch it while it aired, it’s never too late to explore beautiful art for the first time.

I’m always going to praise a unique show, butSuccession’suse of writing is almost unparalleled. Not only is it genius in its overarching narrative, but practically every scene in the series is pure gold in terms of dialogue and delivery. The problem I often see with plot twists is that they try so furiously to be subversive, or to trick the audience in one way or another, that they sacrifice the identity of their shows.Successionconstantly allowed for developments that felt entirely unexpected and yet true to the story.
