A new leak about Jingliu’s buffs inHonkai: Star Rail3.4 has emerged, and while the buffs themselves are positive for the character’s performance in combat, I can’t help but be concerned for some of the F2P (free-to-play) players who own her and are looking forward to using her once her kit is revitalized.Developer HoYoverse has confirmed that older characters from the game will receive updates to their kits to bring them up-to-date with the current meta. As was confirmed by HoYoverse, Jingliu, Blade, Kafka, andSilver Wolf inHonkai: Star Railare the first to receive these buffs.
HoYoverse hasn’t yet detailed how each of these characters will be buffed, but there have been a few leaks about some of these characters. Silver Wolf’s leaked buffs, for example, indicate that she may now be able to decrease enemies’ DEF and their RES, making them more susceptible to damage. Moreover, the leaks say that Silver Wolf will become more effective at inflicting Weaknesses on enemies, perhaps as a means of keeping up withAnaxa inHonkai: Star Railand his ability to inflict Weaknesses on opponents in a way that Silver Wolf, currently, can no longer keep up with.

Jingliu’s Buffs In Honkai: Star Rail 3.4 Have Leaked
The Character May Become An HP-Scaler
While Silver Wolf’s and Kafka’s buffs were some of the first to leak, with Version 3.4 encroaching, the leaks are starting to get more intense and frequent. According to information provided by the leaker known as Shiroha, who accurately leaked information about the Remembrance Trailblazer, Mydei, and Tribbie’s kits,it seems like a portion of the buffs that will be applied to Jingliu’s gameplay kit in Version 3.4 have been leaked. The leak was shared in a post tagged as “Reliable” onReddit. As seen in the leak, Jingliu will have several changes to her kit inHonkai: Star Rail.
According to the leak, the damage multipliers in her Basic Attack, Skill, Ultimate, and E1 (Eidolon level 1) will now scale off her Max HP stat rather than ATK. Additionally, the leak says that once she enters the Spectral Transmigration state, she gains one stack of Syzygy. Lastly, the leak mentions that the ATK bonus gained from her Spectral Transmigration state and her E4 will now be changed to a stackable CRIT DMG increase. Effectively, this will change a lot of things inJingliu’s build inHonkai: Star Rail, and there are both pros and cons to the reported buffs.

Jingliu’s Leaked Buffs In Honkai: Star Rail 3.4 Explained
The Character Could Deal More DMG & Sustain More Hits
If the leaks are accurate, these buffs will alter several aspects of how Jingliu is built and played. If the changes to the multipliers in her Basic Attack, Skill, Ultimate, and E1 are true, then players will have to rebuild Jingliu almost entirely, now prioritizing Max HP rather than ATK. While the exact multipliers and percentages are still unknown, building Max HP tends to be much easier than building ATK, as you can reach much higher scores. Not only would Jingliu be able to sustain more incoming damage, but she could also potentially deal more damage with her attacks.
If Jingliu truly becomes a Max HP scaler, she could become a great DPS forTribbie’s team comps inHonkai: Star Rail, as the Amphoreus character benefits from allies with high Max HP scores.

The rumors about Jingliu gaining a stack of Syzygy upon entering the Spectral Transmigration state are extremely positive. Her special state, which enhances her Skill and allows her to deal more damage, is activated once she gains two stacks of Syzygy and ends once all stacks are consumed; one stack is consumed with each Enhanced Skill usage. At the moment, technically speaking, Jingiu’s Spectral Transmigration state lasts for two turns. If she were to gain a new stack of Syzygy upon entering the state, according to her buff inHonkai: Star Rail, the Spectral Transmigration state would last three turns.
Essentially, players would have access to Jingliu’s strongest state for a longer period, which is great against tougher opponents that take longer to defeat. Lastly,I also see the rumored change from the ATK Bonus to a stackable CRIT DMG increase as a boon. Because Jingliu is reportedly becoming an HP scaler, the ATK bonus wouldn’t make more difference, but the efficiency of having it change to a CRIT DMG increase has yet to be proven. This is because Jingliu already has a huge amount of CRIT DMG bonuses in her Traces in the game.
Via her passive Traces alone, Jingliu gets 37.3% CRIT DMG. This does not take into consideration the extra CRIT DMG Jingliu acquires through allies’ buffs -Sunday inHonkai: Star Railcan increase CRIT DMG significantly via his Ultimate, while the Remembrance Trailblazer can boost CRIT DMG simply by having Mem on the field.
Even so, this would mean that players would only have to put in a small effort into building her CRIT DMG to a high level, especially if accompanied by the right teammates. In turn, players would have an easier time building her CRIT Rate, too. In her Spectral Transmigration state, Jingliu gets a 50% CRIT Rate increase. With a CRIT Rate% Body Relic piece, she would then gain a 32.4% CRIT Rate boost, leaving a lot of space for players to stack up on Max HP and, essentially, turn her into a powerhouse tank inHonkai: Star Rail.
Jingliu’s Buffs May Remove A Vital F2P Build Option In Honkai: Star Rail
On The Fall Of An Aeon May Not Be Usable After The Buffs
From what I can evaluate so far, given how scarce the leaks currently are, there is one notable downside to the buffs to Jingliu’s kit.Her best F2P Light Cone Option, the 5-star On The Fall Of An Aeon, will no longer be usable. This is because the Light Cone increases the user’s ATK every time they attack, up to four times. Additionally, when the user inflicts Weakness Break, their DMG is increased for two turns. The DMG boost would still be useful, but the ATK increase would go to waste on an HP-scalingJingliu inHonkai: Star Rail.
This would mean that players would lose access to a 5-star F2P Light Cone option for Jingliu that currently works well, given that the main issues about Jingliu’s performance nowadays lie in her kit. If the leaks are true, F2P players will have to resort to 4-star Light Cone options. The best F2P option for her would likely become Ninja Record - Sound Hunt, an event-exclusive Light Cone that boosts Max HP and buffs CRIT DMG when the user loses or restores HP. While it is not F2P, Jingliu could also work with A Secret Vow inHonkai: Star Rail.
For now, the leak should be considered with caution. Not only is the information still scarce, but it could be incomplete and, possibly, even subject to change as HoYoverse continues to test the character’s updated kit leading up to its release in Version 3.4. The buffs are intended to revitalize the characters, so that may come at the cost of some F2P options for their builds, but overall, it feels like Jingliu will become a lot better inHonkai: Star Rail, even if she still retains a few flaws, like her Deathrealm’s Effect RES bonus.
