Ho-Oh Location in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet (Indigo Disk)

Ho-Oh can be found in thehills in South Province (Area Four), east of Alfornada. Before players can get Ho-Oh inPokemon Scarlet & Violet, it is crucial to note that players will need to complete the game. This not only involves covering all three paths in the base game, but also completing theTeal MaskandIndigo Disk DLCs.

Unlike catching some otherParadox Pokemon such as Gouging Fire, players do not need to progress in the Blueberry Academy Pokedex to unlock Ho-Oh. Instead, the unlocking procedure is similar to most other legendaries in the game. Precisely, players need to get their hands on the Ho-Oh treat from Snacksworth.

Snacksworth can be found right outside the Blueberry Academy, and he is going to be the most important NPC for not only catching Ho-Oh but a number of other legendaries as well. Forevery 10 Blueberry Quests players complete, they will get a legendary treat from Snacksworth, which will trigger the encounter with that specific Pokemon.

Now, it should be noted that the treat Snacksworth will give is completely random, so it is difficult to predict when exactly players will get the Ho-Oh treat as it could easily be the first, the last, or anywhere in between. A good way to rig the system somehow is to save before visiting Snacksworth and force the re-roll, but that still totally doesn’t guarantee that players will get that treat in that specific turn.

As far as defeating Ho-Oh goes, it is weak to Water, Electric, and Rock-type moves, although players might not want to bank on the weaknesses too much. If the Pokemon gets accidentally knocked out, this would ruin their chances of catching it, so it is crucial to leave some HP. Status Effects can prove to be quite handy, just like other legendary encounters, and there is always the easy way out byusing a Master Ball, and considering Ho Oh’s stature in thePokemonuniverse, it might not be that bad of an idea after all.
