Among the many available weapons at the start ofDragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen, the Grpyhic Victory longsword stands out as one of the best longswords you may use for the Warrior vocation. It doesn’t do anything particularly special, but its high base stats make it an absolute powerhouse.
Among all the weaponsa warrior inDragon’s Dogmacan use, the Gryphic Victory is arguably the best up until the later stretches of the game. If you’re wondering how to get this longsword early, here’s a guide covering all the steps you need to do.

How to Get Gryphic Victory
You can get this unique longsword as soonas you reachGran Soren. After arriving at the city, gift a Foreign Knife to Ser Berne, the guard instructor stationed atthe Encampmentnorth of Cassardis. Once you give him that gift, a quest calledA Parting Tributewill become available on the quest board in Gran Soren’s inn. Completing this quest rewards players with the Gryphic Victory.
The quest involves a lot of walking throughthe open world ofDragon’s Dogma. You need to escort Ser Berne to theShadow Fort, which is located past the mountains east of Gran Soren. You can use two routes to get there:

Taking the shortcut is much faster than going through the coastal highland, but it is also more dangerous. Bandits will attack your party shortly after entering the mine, and you might bump into two ogres further down the tunnels. Luckily, the bandits aren’t that hard to beat, and you can always sneak or run past the ogres. If Ser Berne stays to fight, pick him up and run away. Otherwise, fight the ogres with Ser Berne, then move on once they’re dead.
Gryphic Victory starts with 368 Strength by default, and it reaches up to 1091 Strength when fully upgraded. While it doesn’t make use ofthe game’s overpowered magic system, it is still the hardest-hitting longsword at this point in the story. If you’re looking for an upgrade, you can try switching to one of the longswords found in the post-game ofDragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen:
