In order to explain Spider-Man’s absence, there’s a chance theMCUwill makeSpider-Man: Brand New DayandDaredevil: Born Againtwo sides of the same coin. Foggy Nelson and White Tiger’s murders kick off a chain of events that rekindles the hatred between Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk. By the timeDaredevil: Born Againseason 1 finalewraps up the first part of the conflict, Mayor Fisk is in full control of New York, and a beaten-downDaredevil assembles a small army of insurgentswilling to overthrow Fisk despite having the odds stacked against them.

Daredevil: Born Againseason 1 lays the foundations for a street-level crossover that assembles New York heroes such as the Defenders, the Hawkeyes, the Punisher, Swordsman, and Spider-Man. Unfortunately, Sony’s ownership of Spider-Man’s live-action adaptation rights makes Marvel Studios very unlikely to add Spider-Man toDaredevil: Born Againseason 2in any capacity. So,it will probably be odd to see Daredevil receive help from a variety of New York vigilantes except Spider-Man. There are very few ways Marvel can justify Spider-Man’s absence without calling more attention to it, but the simplest one might be the best.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day May Take Place At The Same Time As Daredevil: Born Again

Spider-Man: Brand New Day And Daredevil: Born Again’s Simultaneous Story Would Be The Most Logical Explanation For Peter Parker’s Absence

In order to explain why New York’s most popular street-level hero doesn’t participate in the city’s rebellion against Mayor Fisk,Spider-Man: Brand New Daycould reveal that Spider-Man is busy fighting a new villain, either in Manhattan or somewhere else, at the same time Daredevil is leading a rebellion against Mayor Fisk.Little is known aboutSpider-Man: Brand New Daybesides Sadie Sink’s casting and the promise of a storyline that followsSpider-Man: No Way Home’s ending appropriately. Whoever the villains are, they might prevent Spider-Man from taking down Fisk.

Taking into account the sequel’s subtitle,Spider-Man: Brand New Daymight take inspiration from the comicsand introduce villains such as Mister Negative, Menace, and Freak. And similarly to the era of Spider-Man comics the movie takes its title from,Spider-Man: Brand New Daymay center around Peter Parker’s struggle to become the hero he was before getting removed from everyone’s memories inSpider-Man: No Way Home. Peter Parker’s struggle may also make it difficult for him to balance fighting a villain of his own with participating in a coup against New York’s Mayor, as he no longer has access to Tony Stark’s technology and the Avengers' resources.

Born Again’s Story Can Still Be A Key Part Of Spider-Man: Brand New Day

Daredevil: Born Again’s Story Could Be The Background For Spider-Man: Brand New Day

Mayor Fisk’s decisions will ripple through New York. Regardless of whether Spider-Man addresses them directly or not, they can make Spider-Man’s struggle even worse as he faces a new villain of his own inSpider-Man: Brand New Day. During and after the events ofDaredevil: Born Againseasons 1 and 2,Wilson Fisk’s war against vigilantes will probably create a different New York than the one Spider-Man started defending at the end ofSpider-Man: No Way Home. For example, one of the enemies Spider-Man has to deal with inSpider-Man: Brand New Daycould be Mayor Fisk’s police task force.

All MCUSpider-Manmovies have been heavily influenced by other MCU characters and events. The Avengers' conflict inCaptain America: Civil Warallowed Spider-Man to be an official superhero in Spider-Man: Homecoming, Iron Man’s death inAvengers: Endgamedirectly led toSpider-Man: Far From Home’s plot, and the Multiverse Saga’s main theme made it possible forSpider-Man: No Way Hometo happen. Similarly,Spider-Man: Brand New Day’s plotcould be influenced byDaredevil: Born Againseason 1 and 2’s story, only simultaneously.

Brand New Day Is The Perfect Project To Have A Spider-Man & Daredevil Crossover

Charlie Cox officially entered the MCU with Matt Murdock’s brief cameo inSpider-Man: No Way Home, where Matt helped Peter Parker and Happy Hogan solve their legal issues after Mysterio’s death. While Matt Murdock only appeared in his civilian clothes, his cameo virtually promised a proper Daredevil and Spider-Man crossover. But since Spider-Man is not allowed to appear on live-action television, the only way to pay offSpider-Man: No Way Home’s promise might be to have Spider-Man team up with Daredevil on the big screen again.Daredevil: Born Againseason 2 could leave a small narrative open, andSpider-Man: Brand New Daycould close it with both characters.

Both Kingpin and the Punisher were introduced inSpider-Mancomics, but they’re both yet to cross paths with Spider-Man in live-action

Spider-Man and Daredevil’s MCU team-up is an opportunity Marvel Studios can’t miss without audience backlash. Daredevil and Spider-Man are a classic comic book duo, and Wilson Fisk is a Spider-Man villain as much as he is Daredevil’s archnemesis. In fact, both Kingpin and the Punisher were introduced inSpider-Mancomics, but they’re both yet to cross paths with Spider-Man in live-action. Given that the alternative is next to impossible, aSpider-Man: Brand New Dayscript with Daredevil, Wilson Fisk, and the Punisher could finally bring all these characters together.
