The Walking Deadis continuing strong with its latest spinoffs, but I’m losing hope they’ll introduce a comic survivor connected to Rick Grimes. The zombie franchise’s ongoing spinoff shows have been offering new, original storylines followingThe Walking Deadseries finale. Most recently,Dead Cityseason 3was confirmed, withDaryl Dixonseason 3airing in early September.

With these new stories have come a plethora of survivors the universe’s veteran characters have met. This includes villains like the Dama and Genet, to new heroes such as Isabelle and Nat. But, despite these shows still pulling some inspiration from Robert Kirkman’s comic series,I’m losing hope one character is going to show up, despite pretense for his appearance.

Rick’s Brother Jeffrey Might Not Show Up In Daryl Dixon Season 3

Jeffrey Starred In His Own Comic Spinoff

While thecast ofDaryl Dixonhas only included original characters, aside from Daryl and Carol, the show has an opportunity to introduce a comic character. This would be Jeffrey Grimes, Rick’s brother, who starred in a spinoff one-shot titledThe Walking Dead: The Alien. In the comic, he’s stranded in Barcelona, Spain when the apocalypse begins.

Because of his location, it’s possible thatJeffrey will appear inDaryl Dixonseason 3. The source material means there’s potential he exists in the TV universe as well. However, there’s also evidence to suggest that he isn’t going to show up. Most notably,Rick never mentions Jeffrey in the show, meaning there’s no way of knowing if he exists.

In addition, there’s been no casting news surrounding who might be playing him. While this could be chalked up to his appearance being a surprise,AMC spoiledDaryl Dixonwould be going to Spain in season 3 before season 2 aired. If Jeffrey was going to show up, chances are his appearance would have been revealed already.

How Jeffrey Could Still Show Up In Daryl Dixon

Season 4’s Production Gives Him A Chance To Appear

However, there is one way Jeffrey could still show up inThe Walking Dead’s TV universe. As of writing,Daryl Dixonseason 4is currently filming in Spain, as confirmed by Norman Reedus last month. This meansthere’s still a chance Jeffrey could show up in the spinoff, even if he doesn’t debut in the next batch of episodes.

Given his connections to Rick, it would be neat to seeThe Walking Deadacknowledge the comics by having Jeffrey appear. If he became a regular member of Daryl’s group, it would give him and Carol more incentive to get home. But, for now, it seemsthere’s no way of knowing if Rick’s brother will appear in the spinoff.
