9-1-1: Nashville’s plot is still shrouded in mystery, but I’m convinced I’ve uncovered the truth behind one character’s role. TheNashville-based spinoff of9-1-1has slowly taken shape since its initial announcement, but there are plenty of secrets the Tennessee first-responder drama is keeping close to its chest. In fact, the very premise of9-1-1: Nashvilleis still largely unknown.

With such recognizable names in the9-1-1: Nashvillecast, however, the acting is already guaranteed to be top-notch. Furthermore, the second spinoff has a built-in edge, thanks to9-1-1: Nashville’s music scene. While some— like Hailey Kilgore’s Taylor— are already confirmed to be talented singers, there is one main character without a clear description. Luckily, I have her figured out.

9-1-1: Nashville’s Trailer Hints At A Woman Being The Voice Of Dispatch

The Final Seconds Are Crucial

With how scarce its promo has been, the importance of9-1-1: Nashville’s first trailerwas immediately obvious. From what’s speculated to be a LeAnn Rimes cover of a classic country hit playing in the background to the sprawling urban landscape of downtown Nashville, the trailer set the tone for the upcoming series.

In addition to hinting at9-1-1: Nashville’s first crisis— a flashy fire tornado— the trailer ends asa woman’s voice says the franchise’s classic line:“What’s your emergency?”Though the voice isn’t credited as a main cast member, it could indicate who the main dispatcher of9-1-1: Nashvillewill be. If so, it’ll follow a long-standing franchise trend.

Teddy Conrad (Eric Close) and Margaret “Peggy” Kenter (Kimberly Williams-Paisley) in Nashville.

They All Became The Voices Of Their Respective Series

Based on the trailer, the main dispatcher of9-1-1: Nashvillewill likely be a woman. Ironically, it would continue a clear franchise trend, asboth9-1-1and9-1-1: Lone Starhad female dispatchers. In the flagship series, Jennifer Love Hewitt’s Maddie and Connie Britton’s Abby were both central dispatchers. In Texas, Grace (Sierra McClain) ran the Austin call center.

Many may consider the franchise to primarily be about firefighters, but the dispatchers are crucial figures to the formula. The conversations dispatchers have with callers are just as important as9-1-1’s over-the-top emergencies. Sometimes, all we know about an emergency comes from hearing the 9-1-1 call, and whoever’s on the other end could be the difference between life and death.

Kimberly Williams-Paisley Is The Only Character Not Directly Connected To Station 113

Her Character Has No Obvious Ties Yet

9-1-1: Nashvillehas confirmed eight main cast members, ranging from the family trio of Don (Chris O’Donnell), Blythe (Jessica Capshaw), and Ryan (Michael Provost) to a trauma-surgeon-turned-firefighter named Roxie (Juani Feliz). Most characters are part of9-1-1: Nashville’s Station 113, like bad boy Blue (Hunter McVay), leaving two mysterious outliers.

9-1-1: Nashvillepremieres Thursday, October 16 on ABC and will later stream on Hulu.

LeAnn Rimes and Kimberly Williams-Paisley were both announced as9-1-1: Nashvillecast members early on, but details surrounding their characters have been vague at best. While Rimes’ character is speculated to be involved with Nashville’s music scene and is confirmed to be Blue’s mother,Williams-Paisley’s character remains an enigma.

Every main character seems well-insulated, save for Williams-Paisley’s Cammie…

Every main character seems well-insulated, save for Williams-Paisley’s Cammie, who has no clear connection to the team of firefighters or their loved ones. As such,Cammie must be9-1-1: Nashville’s main dispatcher. Unless a big twist reveals otherwise, Williams-Paisley being billed as a main character only makes sense if she’s the voice of9-1-1: Nashville.
