The odds are clearly stacked against Power Man, as not even an alliance with Apocalypse was effective in stopping Aeon the Knife. However, without the Void to manipulate him, Power Man may be able to tap into the full power of the Hulk, the Iron Fist, and Sentry’s power of a million exploding suns to defeat Aeon and control the Void before it’s too late.

The Void’s True Form Is Much More Terrifying In The Comics

Marvel Studios’Thunderboltsput a creative spin on the Void by making it a mystical representation of Robert Reynolds' mental health struggles rather than a full-fledged monster. This change allowedThunderboltsto tackle its third act from a perspective that no other superhero movie had explored. However,Thunderbolts*' reinvented Void lost the primal threat of its comic book counterpart.AsPower Man: Timelessshows, the Void isn’t just one of the most powerful dark entities in the comics, but it’s also the living embodiment of evil, and it takes the form of a demonic copy of its host.

Thunderbolts*depicted the Void’s manipulation of Bob Reynolds' mind as a series of rooms inside the memories of Bob and each of the Void’s victims.Power Man: Timeless #4instead shows howthe comic-book version of the Voidshapeshifts into his host’s loved ones to torment him. As the Void flies into the sun, it warps its body into the faces of Jessica Jones, Danny Rand, and Luke’s daughter Dani, only to revert to its demonic Power Man form and laugh at Luke — something the Void tends to do in the present day to torment Robert Reynolds.

The Future Luke Cage Proves The MCU Overlooks Sentry’s Full Potential

Power Man: TimelessShows Just How Powerful The Hulk, Iron Fist, Sentry, and Luke Cage Can Be

Power Man: Timeless' version of Luke Cage wields the abilities of three immensely powerful Marvel heroes, all of whom have had smaller live-action roles than they should.Marvel Studios has depicted the Hulk as a supporting character since Phase 1’sThe Avengers, which has kept him from reaching his full potential. Likewise, Finn Jones' Danny Rand was the least popular hero from Netflix’s Marvel shows, and he barely used his Iron Fist abilities in his show. Lewis Pullman’s Bob played a big role inThunderbolts*, butRobert Reynolds practically didn’t use his Sentry powers, and the Void only transported its victims to its realm.

Netflix’sLuke Cagehad a better reception thanIron Fist, but Mike Colter’s Luke Cage didn’t get the chance to grow to the same level of popularity of Charlie Cox’s Daredevil and Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones before Netflix’s Marvel shows were canceled. The MCU is unlikely to adaptPower Man: Timelessanytime soon. However, Luke Cage’s Hulk, Iron Fist,Sentry, and the Void powers might help Marvel Studios remember the true potential of all characters involved.

Power Man: Timless#4will be available June 15, 2025 from Marvel Comics.
