Warning: This article includes SPOILERS for Wednesday season 2 part 1!

Wednesdayseason 2 cast Billie Piper as the new music teacher, which is an absolutely brilliant choice. Whether it be the spooky scoring or the Broadway musical, music has always been an integral part oftheAddams Familyfranchise. Plus,The Addams Family’s theme song, written by Vic Mizzy, is one of the most iconic theme songs of all time.

Luckily, withJenna Ortega playing the cello inWednesday, the hit Netflix show embraced this element of the franchise. Season 1 featured some entertaining cello covers, such as “Paint It Black” by The Rolling Stones. This musical trend continues inWednesdayseason 2 with more songs and a new music teacher at Nevermore.

Billie Piper Plays Wednesday Season 2’s Music Teacher, Isadora Capri

While Wednesday Addams already knows how to play the Cello in season 1, she doesn’t have someone to help her perfect her craft. However, that changes inWednesdayseason 2, whenNevermore Academy hires Isadora Capri, a child musical prodigy and werewolf, as the new music teacher.

She develops a tense relationship with Wednesday, pushing the young cello prodigy to reach perfection. Isadora Capri is played by formerDoctor Whocompanion Billie Piper. Piper was the perfect choice to play Wednesday’s music teacher in season 2 because she actually had an impressive music career as a teen pop star long before she became a successful actor.

Billie Piper Actually Sings In Wednesday Season 2 (& She’s Not The Only One)

In two of the four episodes ofWednesdayseason 2 part 1, Billie Piper’s character, Isadora Capri, sings. Given her impressive music career, it’s no surprise that the show includes Piper’s real vocals. Singing was how the performer made her name, pursuing that profession until she retired in 2003 to focus on acting.

At just the age of 15, Piper was signed to a record label, and her first single, “Because We Want To,” hit number one on the UK Singles Chart, making herthe youngest female artist to debut at the top of the chart. Her first album, Honey to the B, was also certified platinum in the UK and double platinum in New Zealand.

However, she isn’t the onlyWednesdayseason 2 actorto use their real voice.Catherine Zeta-Jones sings a duet with Billie Piper, covering “Bad Moon Rising” by Creedence Clearwater Revival.

Zeta-Jones had a very brief music career in the early 90s, and she played Velma Kelly in the movie adaptation of Chicago. While her vocals might not have contributed to her casting inWednesday, I certainly enjoyed them making use of her musical abilities in season 2.
