Jeopardy! Mastersseason 3 finalist Isaac Hirsch, who placed fourth in the 2025 tournament, revealed if he’ll return to the show in the future after he exceeded his own expectations during the season.
In an Instagram post,Isaacrevealed that he doesn’t think that he’ll be invited back toJeopardy!any time soon, even though he performed much better than he thought that he would duringJeopardy! Mastersseason 3. He began by saying,“That’s a wrap on Jeopardy Masters!”
Isaac continued,“This Jeopardy Masters season had something for everyone. People who like me got to watch me improbably go on a run to get 4th place in the whole thing, taking home $100,000. People who don’t like me got to watch me get my butt kicked a whole bunch by people who are much, much better at Jeopardy (and trivia!) than I am. Obviously, losing a bunch of games in not-particularly-competitive fashion isn’t exactly the most fun you’re able to have on the Alex Trebek stage, butI still had a few good moments over the course of the tournament.”

Isaac went on to say that he wouldn’t be upset if he wasn’t invited back toJeopardy!any time soon after performing so well. He wrote,“I had told people going in that the absolute best-case scenario for me would be something like fifth place, so we exceeded the absolute best-case scenario! I’m incredibly grateful to the folks over there for letting me play some more Jeopardy. It’s a rare privilege to have played as many games as I have at this point, so I would not begrudge them if they didn’t bring me back for a long, long while.”
Isaac added that he was so happy for Yogesh, Juveria, and Victoria for their amazing performances inJeopardy! Mastersseason 3. He said,“It was a lot of fun to see the contestants I already knew again, and meet the ones I hadn’t. Everyone was extremely nice and welcoming, and I’m thrilled for all three finalists, who are incredibly deserving and smart.”

Isaac also expressed gratitude to the people who helped him during hisJeopardy!journey, writing,“I’m also grateful for my support system through all of this. My family is the whole reason I was even able to go on Jeopardy in the first place. My friends have been endlessly patient and supportive through a year full of Jeopardy watching gatherings. Of course, the teachers and coaches I’ve had throughout my life are responsible for a lot of the knowledge I retain in my rapidly deteriorating brain.”
In addition, Isaac included a special message for his girlfriend, Victoria. He wrote,“But of course, the biggest supporter I have is my wonderful girlfriend Victoria, who has sat through so much in-studio Jeopardy over the past year that she could probably help them make the show at this point.”
Isaac concluded by once again hinting that he won’t back toJeopardy!for a while. He said,“In my very first appearance, I wagered her birthday in Final Jeopardy, so it felt extremely fitting that I should use my last appearance (at least for a while) to make that same wager. I couldn’t have done any of this without her, and I hope I have repaid her in some small part by talking about how much I love her in public. (Gross!) Until next time, whenever that may be!”
What Isaac Hirsch’s Prediction About Jeopardy! Return Means
Isaac Might Take A Jeopardy! Break
Isaac’s prediction about not returning toJeopardy!any time soon makes sense because, as of now,he doesn’t qualify forJeopardy! Mastersseason 4 because he didn’t place in the season 3 Top 3, even though he performed so well againstJeopardy!legends Yogesh, Juveria, Victoria, Matt Amodio, Roger Craig, Brad Rutter, Adriana, and Neilesh.
IfJeopardy! Mastersseason 4follows the same format as season 3, thenIsaac would only be able to qualify by placing in the Top 3 of theJeopardy!Invitational Tournament or by taking someone’s place if a contestant drops out, like when James Holzhauer declined his invitation and Brad stepped in. This is because he won’t be playing in the 2026 Tournament of Champions either. Isaac seems to realize that he might not be back onJeopardy!in the near future, so it’s great that he’s happy with his performance inJeopardy! Mastersseason 3.
