Meeting the first night of the season, they seemed to get along well as they moved through their experience in the villa, but when Nic met Bombshell Cierra Ortega, things changed quickly for the sweet pair.
Nic was torn between Cierra and Belle-A for a few days onLove Island USA,but ultimately chose to couple up with Cierra at the show’s first recoupling. While he didn’t choose Belle-A, the sting came less from Nic’s decision and more from the fact that Belle-A became the first eliminated Islander ofLove Island USAseason 7’s cast. Nic’s Trying To Come Off Aloof & Sweet On Camera
He’s Not Being His Authentic Self
AlthoughNic’s time onLove Island USAseason 7has been similar to some of the other Islanders, he’s come off very differently than the rest of the cast. Early on in the season,it felt like Nic was going to be the show’s resident sweetheart, clearly respecting Belle-A’s boundaries about being physical and seemingly not caring about the fact that his relationship with her wasn’t moving as quickly as others. While he never got to a point where he was disrespectful of her boundaries, when Cierra came into the villa interested in him, Nic took the chance to move.
Nic’s personality throughout the season has seemed sweet and caring, if not a bit aloof about how he’s been moving. While he’sbeen all in on Cierra for a while, it appears that he may have simply been waiting for another chance to move along to another Bombshell. Even when Belle-A and Nic were still entangled in a love triangle with Cierra, he wasn’t clear about what he wanted to either woman, even thoughLove Island USAseason 7’s edit made it seem like he was upfront and honest about wanting Cierra over Belle-A.Nic’s overall attitude has been suspicious.
Nic’s Connection With Belle-A Wasn’t As Surface As It Seemed
There Was More To Their Relationship
Although there was a lot more content about Nic and Belle-A’s issues while she was onLove Island USA, their connection according to Belle-A was fairly solid. According to Belle-A (viaUS Weekly),she was being reassured by Nicthroughout their final days together in the villa that he was going to couple up with her, even sharing that he’d told her not to be worried about the recoupling because of how confident he felt in their connection.Belle-A’s relationship with Nic did seem stable throughout their time together, though it was clear he was interested in Cierra, as well.
His Past Relationships Were Eye-Opening
AlthoughLove Island USseason 7’s Belle-A only spent a short time in the villa, she learned a lot more about Nic than viewers have that give some interesting color to his inability to choose between herself and Cierra more directly. According to Belle-A, Nic’s last relationship was an open one, meaning he and his girlfriend were able to date more than each other. While Nic and Belle-A may have talked about that open connection, their time onLove Island USAwas meant to be exclusive. It’s possibleNic wanted to recreate that dynamic, and may still be deceiving Cierra.
