Pokémon GOis gearing up for its biggest event ever this summer. Every year since 2017, the hit mobile game holds a weekend-long event called GO Fest. Although originally an in-person event series, GO Fest has now gone mostly virtual, with players from around the world able to participate in a series of special events. This year is no exception, with a series of special event quests and other in-game goings on scheduled forPokémon GO’s biggest event yet.

This year’s version of Pokémon GO Fest will be called Max Finale, and is scheduled to take place between August 23 and 24, 2025. Gigantic Pokémon Eternatus will be available during the event, along with some unique high-level raids and a brand-new GO Pass.

What To Expect From Pokémon GO Fest 2025 Max Finale

New Pokémon, New Raids, & More

Perhaps the biggest new feature of Pokémon GO Fest’s Max Finale 2025 isthe addition of Eternatus to the game.This Legendary Pokémon, who debuted in Generation 8 and later appeared inSword and Shield, is known as the largest Pokémon ever, weighing in at 2,094 pounds and 65 feet tall.

You’ll be able to catch Eternatus just once during this two-day event, when it’ll appear in a series of special raids.Other raids will prominently feature Dynamax andGigantamax Pokémonthat have previously appearedinPokémon GO.

Eternatus raids will be available between 10 AM and 6 PM local time on August 23 and 24.

Players of level 13 and up will be able to faceCrowned Sword Zacian and Crowned Shield Zamazenta as part of the Dark Skies event, beginning August 18 and continuing concurrently through the end of Max Finale.

In addition, you’ll see more active Power Spots during Dark Skies, and the Max Particle limit will be increased to allow you tomake the most of the event.
