While this story takes place in Marvel’s mainstream Earth-616 continuity,this isn’t the original Luke Cage. This version of Power Man was introduced in 2023 as the last hero of a dying timeline, having inherited the powers of the Sentry,the Hulk and the Iron Fist. This Power Man later traveled to Earth-616, where he has been battling against the powerful Inhuman Aeon and trying to free Eversight - a slave to the god known as the Celestial Mind.
In this issue, Power Man succeeds in his mission, freeing Eversight and allowing himself to die, plunging into the extinguished Celestial Heart. From that cosmic crucible,Luke Cage is reborn as a god even more powerful than his prior Sentry/Hulk/Iron Fist form, nowon the level of the Celestials and Galactusas the embodiment of the Sol system. Power Man effortlessly defeats Aeon with the most powerful punch thrown in Marvel history, then embarks on future missions, making it clear his new godly status is here to stay.
Sadly for Luke, the elements of the Void he was able to cast off seem to have returned to a greater supernatural darkness, suggesting thateven as a Celestial god, he’ll still face dangerous battles in the future. However, for now, the tragicLuke Cageof a doomed timeline has become the god of the solar system, giving Earth its own heroic answer toGalactus.

Luke Cage is part of the Netflix Marvel tv series slate and follows the titular character in Harlem who fights crime to protect his neighborhood. After an experiment goes wrong, Luke Cage becomes imbued with superhuman strength and skin as hard as diamonds. Falsely convicted and on the run, Luke uncovers an underground syndicate that looks to exploit the residents of Harlem. To protect them, Luke will come out of hiding to stop them, hoping to clear his name in the process.
