The upcoming miniseries builds off theWhat If…?season 1 episode"What If… Zombies?!“In this alternate timeline, Iron Man, Captain America, Thanos, and other iconic MCU characters are now among the walking dead.

Zombie Iron Man in What If…? Season 1

As perCollider,Marvel Zombieswill now be coming to Disney+ on September 24. This is a week earlier than the previously announced release date of October 3.

What This Means For Marvel Zombies

While a week is not a major change, it does ensure thatMarvel Zombieswill be available to watch on Disney+ sooner than anticipated. This comes after a four-year wait for the show, which was first announced during a Disney+ Day event in 2021, and only about a month after the season finale ofWhat If…?season 1.

There have been many MCU shows since then andWhat If…?even ended with season 3. Despite taking approximately four years to come to fruition,Marvel Zombiesis now almost here, and the wait will be slightly shorter than expected given the change from October 3 to September 24.

What If…?experimented with different release models throughout its seasons.Marvel Zombieswill only release the first episode on September 24 and will release the following three episodes weekly. Director Bryan Andrews shared withColliderthat"it’s like a four-episode mini-event, like a film broke up into four parts.”

Our Take On Marvel Zombies' New Release Date

After the long wait forMarvel Zombies, I’m glad the show will be streaming sooner rather than later. There are going to be fewer newMCU showsin the coming years, but the ones that were greenlit and made deserve to be released. I’m also excited to soon get more from characters like Wanda who have not been in an MCU project recently and whose futures are unclear.

The episode was one of the best inWhat If…?season 1 through its terrifying and fascinating exploration of a world with superpowered zombies. As a four-episode miniseries, the show has the perfect structure to continue this compelling story without needlessly overextending it.

The timing is also perfect, with the show releasing during the Halloween season.Agatha All Alongperformed well when it was released around this time last year, andMarvel Zombiesis perfectly themed for the Halloween season as well.
