Since the dawn of time, humankind has fought over a number of controversial debates. Yet, most pale in comparison to one deeply philosophical question: does pineapple truly belong on pizza? Luckily for the millions out there still waging war against their fellow pizza lovers over this divisive topic, the only person who’s opinion truly matters has spoken. That’s right,Master Chiefhas finally settled the debate over whether or not pineapple belongs on pizza.
Posted to Twitter by user Greenskull, Steve Downes, the voice of Master Chief, donned his mantel as John-117 after he was asked to admit he loved eating pineapple on pizza. However, it seems Greenskull’s attempt to bringHalo’sprotagonist to the side of Hawaiian pizza failed, as the iconic video game character claimed he’d never admit to such a heinous crime against food as it would “go against everything [he] hold[s] dear.”

The beloved video game character goes on to claim that “pineapple on pizza is an abomination,” before making amends with the Twitter user by stating, “however, if it’s okay with you, I guess it’ll have to be okay with me.” Carrying that sentiment on, Master Chief continues to say “Hawaiian pizza is my favorite food on the citadel,” clearly resurrecting the classic joke first started inMass Effect 3.
