Middle-earth: Shadow of Waroffersa lengthly and very deep single-player campaign, but many gamers are already wrapping up the epic experience and ready for a new challenge. Although the title does have some end-game content to keep players busy, there is a limit to the number of Shadow Wars that players can participate in. Luckily, that will be changing with the first DLC release.
Shadow Wars are an end-game feature inMiddle-earth: Shadow of Warthat allow the player to defend their fortresses against hordes of incoming orc tribes. Players have to take out enemy captains and war chiefs and hold onto their territory during the assaults. The mode is very popular with the most hardcore players and they have been begging for the developer to lift the limit on the eventssince launch.
According to information dropped during a recent live stream with the developers, it sounds like infinite Shadow Wars are set to arrive alongside the game’s first DLC pack…
There is no release date confirmed for the Slaughter Tribe DLC quite yet, but more details should be arriving later this year.
The information provided on the live stream makes it sound like although the infinite Shadow Wars will be added at the same time as the Slaughter Tribe DLC, players won’t actually need to purchase the DLC pack to gain access to the unlimited feature.
This is a wise move forShadow of War, considering that the game is alreadyunder fire for its use of loot boxesin a $60 mostly single-player game. The core game is deep enough that the average player won’t really need DLC content anytime soon, but hopefully Slaughter Tribe drops sooner than later so that the hardcore scene can continue grinding away through the end-game.
Middle-earth: Shadow of Waris out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. There is currently no release date confirmed for the Slaughter Tribe DLC.
