Summary
Sorcery andmastery over cursed energyare key to surviving and thriving in the world ofJujutsu Kaisen, but those are far from the only important attributes that ensure fighting benefits. Physical attributes are also important when it comes to enduring the onslaught of magical attacks, and versatility is a very useful characteristic as it allows one to adapt to any attack the opponent throws and withstand the worst of it.
Not all characters inJujutsu Kaisenare as reliant upon versatility as others. Some prefer to use their excessive strength to maintain their composure, while others have devised entire fighting styles that are based onversatility, evasion, and speed. These particular characters show that it can be incredibly effective when used masterfully in a fight, and some of them are among the strongest in this setting.

8Nanami Kento
A Powerhouse With Some Tricks Up His Sleeve
Nanami is a character who prefers to rely onphysical strength and resiliencerather than versatility, and it’s easy to see why. He is a tough and strong man who can easily withstand attacks from opponents such as Haruta Shigemo and easily overpower them with nothing but a direct onslaught.
However, he also showcases impressive versatility when his strength fails. The most obvious example would be in Shibuya, where Nanami battles against Dagon, an opponent he can’t easily overwhelm. He also displays great versatility when evading attacks from an army of transfigured humans shortly before his demise.

7Yuji Itadori
Has To Rely On Prowess To Survive
As theprotagonist of the series, it’s not a surprise that Yuji Itadori faces countless challenges that he has to overcome, and while being a formidable sorcerer, Yuji isn’t someone who has any outstanding powers or techniques. His fighting style mostly relies on rapid attacks infused with cursed energy, and this is where versatility comes into play.
To hold his own in a fight, Yuji has to be able to avoid the attacks of his opponents as quickly as he dishes out his own, which makes him rely on his physical prowess. An example of this is seen in Yuji’s duel with Mahito in Shibuya, where he is able to adapt and avoid Mahito’s strikes and use his deadly cursed technique.

6Ryomen Sukuna
Adapts To All Situations
Ryomen Sukuna is the king of curses and arguably the most powerful being to ever exist in the world ofJujutsu. Unsurprisingly, he holds immense strength and resilience, which means that he can easily take most of the attacks his opponents throw without evasion, making relying on versatility his last resort.
However, it is a last resort that eventually had to be used, most notably in hisbattle against Satoru Gojo. Gojo is the only one who can rival Sukuna in terms of power, and there are examples where Sukuna is forced to retreat and avoid Gojo’s attacks while on the defensive, as those strikes can genuinely wound him.

5Naoya Zenin
The Prodigy Of The Zenin Clan
Naoya Zenin is an incredibly arrogant character who believes that his clan and the world owe him. He serves as a major antagonist to Maki and, therefore, shares some characteristics common to his clan, and his versatility, in addition to speed, are prime examples of his prowess.
He displays his skills numerous times during Maki’s purge of the Zenin clan and is among those who give her the most difficult of her challenges. Naoya can easily avoid attacks and maintain a defensive stance before he can use momentary openings in his opponent’s stances to completely dominate them.

4Maki Zenin
Resilient Enough To Destroy A Clan
Maki Zenin’s life was far from an enviable one. As someone who was born to one of the most elitist sorcerer families without any cursed energy, she was destined to be looked down upon and derided by everyone around her. However, instead of giving up, Maki did her best to nurture her own impressive physical skills, including versatility.
Maki underwent excessive physical training, which made her a verypowerful and impressive combatant. This can be seen during her battle against Dagon, where she’s able to avoid the cursed spirit’s onslaught and hold her own, and later when she stands against the entire Zenin clad, outdoing them in speed and versatility.

3Toji Fushiguro
Broke The Limits Of Versatility
Toji Fushiguro has a backstorysimilar to that of Maki, but he has gone even further in terms of his achievements. Despite his lack of cursed energy, Toji found various loopholes in the ways sorcerers operate and rely on seeing cursed energy, using this as an opportunity to become incredibly powerful and strong.
Versatility is one of the skills he had to perfect, and it can be seen in almost every fight he participates in. He especially shines in his battle against Satoru Gojo, who was the strongest sorcerer alive at the time. Despite this, Toji proved to be a powerful opponent who managed to avoid many of Satoru’s powerful strikes.

2Satoru Gojo
Practically Untouchable
Satoru Gojo is a powerhousewho can easily put fear into the hearts and minds of all his opponents. Like Sukuna, versatility isn’t a part of his primary strategy; that would be his overwhelming power as a sorcerer who can withstand and destroy almost every opponent. Despite this, however, Gojo is more than able to evade the attacks of others.
Gojo’s incredible speed is one of his hallmark abilities, and his body is just as adaptable. It is shown during his battle against cursed spirits and Ryomen Sukuna that Gojo is able to predict the next move of most opponents and evade, relying both on his sorcery skills and the natural versatility of his body.

1Mahito
The Master Of Transfiguration
Mahito does not possess any out-of-the-ordinary physical strength, but that does not stop him from being anincredibly deadly foewho can bring fear into the hearts of his opponents. Most notably, it is his cursed technique of idele transfiguration, which can morph the soul into anything Mahito wants, but his versatility is also among the best inJujutsu Kaisen.
This is due to the fact that Mahito can easily transfigure his own body just as well as he does with others. He can easily adapt and morph, which allows him to survive Sukuna’s strike and escape through the sewers. In Shibuya, Mahito manages to evade some of Gojo’s attacks and survive until the end of the battle. The battle where he relies on versatility the most is the one against Yuji and Todo, where Mahito easily takes on multiple forms.
