AMC’sNautilus, which was directly inspired by Jules Verne’sTwenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea, features a star-studded cast who bring the iconic literary characters to life on the small screen.Nautilusfollows Captain Nemo’s origin story prior to the events ofTwenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea, in 1857. In the world’s first submarine, theNautilus, Nemo and his diverse crew of escaped prisoners of the East India Mercantile Company travel the seas and get into various adventures. Interestingly,Nautiluswas first released in England and Ireland, but now AMC has brought it to viewers in the United States.
Whilereviews forNautilusseason 1have been mixed, there’s no denying that the series has some incredibly talented actors in its cast. From stars of British and Australian television to up-and-coming actors from a wide variety of backgrounds,Nautilusfeatures a true ensemble cast of big personalities all clashing against one another. WhileNautilusmay not be one of thebest book to TV adaptationsever, it’s star-studded cast certainly turned it into an enjoyable and adventurous show filled with humor and some serious topics.
